Father Rohr is the real deal--most negative comments are provoked by fear of this kind of purity. I'm afraid of it, but I'm responsible enough to call it truth.
Another bearded weirdo with a degree in a "subject" nobody can test or prove.
Middle class preaching about the captivities of the middle class, white preaching about white privilege, for public schools but his own kids go to private schools...
he goes after both liberals and conservatives, but I think that's really his way of throwing people off his scent. Its like when people say "I'm not Left or Right on the political spectrum I'm off the spectrum" - what that really means is that they're far Left.
When someone is speaking truth as it is clear Rohr is doing here...it is best not to listen with your mind...stop the mind and there is a knowing that confirms the truth...
The economy of salvation implies that your account with that famous bank in heaven counts for nothing, as long as there is inflation raging on earth. Inflation not only devalues your own account constantly, it also brings ruin to others. The very idea of the Community of Saints reads: Salvation is either achieved in community with others, or it is nothing ...
As long as one regards individual salvation as a sort of a deal, where you give your earthenly life for the purchase of heavenly glory, one might well miss the point. The idea of the church within the Trinitarian flow means something else: Loving your neighbour is not a "charitable work", it is participation in the very act of redemption. So if your God is redeeming love, how can you ever be satisfied with you being saved, as long as your neighbour isn't?
2:45 Fr. Rohr, correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't some of the greatest saints of Christianity very concerned about the personal salvation of their own souls, yet went on to live lives of unselfish, heroic virtue?
Pope John Paul wrote extensively on economics and was very much against socialism and communism -- he believed in free-enterprise.
This being said, would you say that Father Rohr would support Ron Paul, as Ron is the only civil-libertarian and free-enterprise thinker running for office?
Check out the Venus Project. We have a different way that I believe is in line with the values of christianity at the core.

The list goes on and on into irrelevance.

Read his book Radical Grace. You'll get what he is saying. This small clip doesn't do it.

This is ridiculously insightful. Especially at the end.

Jesus said "ye must be born again."
He called His disciples one by one.
This guy obviously sounds bright but does he even know the Lord of Glory....?

How do you dare judge that this person might not know the Lord of glory?!!! On which basis?

He should come to my church and find hope.

I can see hope in his face, but I cannot see one in your words.

As an existentialist, I could disagree on some things to a point, but overall this is a good video.
