  • i read one time that junior was hung like a horse and he would break in the new honeys on hee haw.

  • Larry the Cable Guy has NOTHIN'on Junior!

  • LOL....man I needed that.

  • Too bad Haley Barbour decided not to run for Pres.

  • nothingis better than a family night with hee haw being on tv. I would give anything to have humor like this on tv again.

  • I'm not wearing one and if I was i wouldn't show ya! LOL

  • always liked this

  • It's all in the delivery isn't it?

  • I grown up watching Hee-Haw every week, I missed watching it this is what good clean TV in about and country music. A few months ago I found a station that plays rerun of Hee-Haw on Sunday and Monday evenings The station is RFDTV its mainly about country living ( farming, hunting and fishing). It also has some shows out of Brunson MI.

  • The Good 'Ol Days.....really miss this kind of fun on TV!

  • Love the way he pronounces his name: "Juhn-yer"

  • For all you Hee Haw fans, RFDTV shows it every Sunday night at 8:00 pm est.

  • When I was very small kid some of the cast of HeeHaw did a show at the Ramada in Gatlinburg Tennessee. My parents were very good friends with Archie Campbell and Junior Samples. My parents worked in whatever capacity during the show to see that all patrons expectations were met. I was only about 3 or 4 and Junior used to babyset me while the rest of the show was being ran. He was an awesome caring man. I miss him. As I grew up he would call and "check" on me until his passing.

  • a good show and a lot of good songs too bad they don`t make shows like that any more same for the songs

  • i sure with they would make shows like this today. instead of all the stupid showes they make now.

  • The band's name is BR-549, they're a smokin' hot alt country outfit. Check em out.

  • Too bad Junior died. He would be the smartest man in the Republican Party today.

  • @bbbkahinharmony Along with being smarter than any of the Commiecrats too.

  • i miss hee haw . Good clean comedy proof that you didn't have to cuss all the time to be hilarious. Grandpa Jr Roy ANd archie were my favorites

  • I wish CMT or GAC would show Hee Haw again. I loved this show and remember it being on in syndication in the early 1980's. Junior is a riot!

  • @storrs19 If you have RFD-TV, they air it Sunday nights

  • this was a perfect show.

  • Great stuff!!! Watched it all the time growing up!

  • git er done

  • Mr. Bib-Overall Bob Hope...I cannot stop laughing at that line.

  • What's sad is that this show would never be able to be aired on a major channel with todays audience.

  • Jr.was my great uncle and we sure do miss him.R.I.P.uncle jr.

  • is that where the band BR-549 got their name from?

  • @Buried3030 I once heard it was from the number on a license plate nailed up on the wall of the garage where they used to rehearse. Suppose it could just as well been from this though, almost seems more likely.

  • I love this and the line up, ya'll seem to remember ! Gloom and despair also included however another long forgotten soul " String Bean" ! Sorry ,, during my time !

  • wasn't Gailard in "Mississippi Burning"?

  • We miss you Junior. RIP

  • What a hoot! Thanks for sharing!

  • I love classic Hee Haw (pre 1984 or so) with all the good stars. Junior was a riot! Thanks so much for posting these hilarious clips.

  • I missed Grandpa Jones and Minnie Pearle and Junior Sample and of Course Jerry they are dearly missed like George Jones ole Song Who Gonna filled there Shoes ! I am an Okie i love Hee Haw and i missed the clean cut family oriemted shows on the TV.

  • I love that his big "bob hope" put down is so good, he has to use it twice ...

  • i live rite down the street from a little store jr owned yrs ago in buford ga he was from cumming ga

  • The sherrif plays in the Earnest movies.

  • Actually it was the late Kenny Price who played the sherrif. He and Gailard Sartain looked a bit similar to me.

  • You are right 4freespeech. I would give almost anything to have comedy shows like this on television again, with clean, non-profane speech. Wouldn't it be great?

  • @wtmhmh I agree with you man, I love Hee Haw because its hilarious and it's not racist, profane, or sexual, just good clean fun. Although we all wish for this show to be back on the air more than it is, you can never re-create the show and have it be as good as this. TV just aint what it used to be.

  • My uncle looked and talked exactly like

Junior down to the weight, the hair and

the same overalls. We used to laugh

ourselves silly over Hee Haw, especially

"Gloom, Despair & Agony On Me".

Why can't we have clean comedy any more?

  • Good question!

  • I wish someone could post more of Junior. He is hilarious.

  • Man I miss this show. I grew up watching it and it would be great to watch it again.

  • Channel 78

    (RFD TV)

    7:00-8:00 pm

How many episodes did they do this?I have never seen this skit.

  • Thanks!! I'm in Canada though and I don't get that channel up here.

I don't remember how many episodes they did this as I was only a kid when I watched it last.

  • That is for US, So far we have not seen any of these skits.

  • HILARIOUS!!!!!

  • who is the cop? I recognize him from the Ernest movies....

  • Gailard Sartain

  • I really like him, thanks :)

  • I never get tired of watching the hee haw videos

  • Junior was a riot! Thanks for sharing this. Note that it comes from when CMT was not the garbage it is now. Anything over 10 years old is shunned now by almost every channel.

  • the number to call is br 549.

    great man

  • My favorite Junior skit of all times.

  • Man I miss that show.

  • If you have cable or Satellite, you can catch the show on RFD T.V on Sunday nights at 8 o'clock, Monday mornings at 10 o'clock, or Thursday evenings at 6 o'clock.

  • Recently, RFD showed a program where jr. couldn't pronounce "trigonometry" - hilarious!

  • Oh yes!!! I've seen that one, or actually several episodes where Junior mispronounces trigonometry. That is hilarious.

  • That is NOT Kenny Price!

  • That's Gailard Sartain.

  • that is junior samples. almost all the good ones are gone

  • ROFL

  • I think kenny price did play a cop on the show but not that one there was one skit when kenny played a cop a Achie Campell played the judge if I remember right

  • The one playing the cop was Gillard Sartain (I'm sorry if I didn't spell it right).

  • That is Gailard Sartain playing the officer. He also played in Ernest Goes to Jail with Jim Varney, as well as other tv/movies.

  • Ernest Goes To Camp, Ernest Saves Christmas, Ernest Scared Stupid, Ernest...

  • This show looks a lot better now than it did back when it was running.

  • Classic show, sadly, there will never be another show quite like Hee Haw.

  • I miss that show very much

  • What is the name of the actor playing the cop? I still see him in movies, but, don't know his name.

  • Kenny Price

  • That's Gailard Sartain.

  • he's right it's kenny price

  • @holmescreek

That's Gailard Sartain. Kenny Price did play the Sheriff in a lot of skits on "Hee-Haw", but in this particular one, Gailard Sartain played the cop you walked onto Junior's car lot. (Gailard Sartain also played C.D. in the first episode of "Walker, Texas Ranger".)

  • @A1l2l2e2n4 He was also Chuck from the Ernest movies with Jim Varney.

  • @A1l2l2e2n4 he also played the school teacher at the burning church on "The Outsiders"

  • Junior Samples is the funniest guy ever to come to Hee Haw. No doubt at all.

  • why doesnt anyone put up pickin and grinnin?

  • R.I.P. Junior....we lost junior 25 years ago today 11/13/83 @ age 56.

  • Good stuff. I needed this. My ol' mom and dad are gone now but, Hee Haw sure reminds me of better times in our country, and with my family while growing up. Thanks for a good post.

  • Jes' cawl bee awr fahv fower nahn!

  • THE BEST SHOW THAT WAS EVER ON TV

  • LOL*****`S

    Thank you Shirley for sending

  • Junior Samples, what a performer! LOL at this!! Junior was my favorite on the show.

  • I can't remember anybody's phone number, but after almost 40 years I still remember BR549!

  • @couger1 There is a band, who named the band after this skit.

  • @couger1 Me too!!! And everytime somebody calls my number trying to sell me something I don't want anyway I always tell them to call me on my cell phone at BR-549. Most of them are foreigners and have no idea what I'm talking about. I guess they call that number though.

  • @couger1 me too.. oh dear..LOL

  • Awesome! I haven't laughed so hard since the interview of the CEO of Fannie Mae where he said everything was OK.

    BR-549 FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • at 0:50 the cop almost gets hit by a truck!

  • LMFAO!! God I loved that show as a kid!

  • This one is so funny. I always liked Junior. He was always funny. Thanks for sharing.

  • Loved any scene with Junior in it. He was just a good old country boy and had a charm of his own. The writing for this scene with Gaylord Sartay (sp?) is hilarious. His car sales pitch was always fun and I think BR-549 was worn out with everyone in my family saying it. Now there's a band with that name huh?

Thanks for the great video. -Paula

  • Gaylord Sartain - From Tulsa - whom I remember as Mazeppa Pompazoidi

Junior may have come across a simple but was a very honest man. His sweet boyishness was very endearing.

    I miss him!

  • Remember, BR-549!!

  • Ol Junior Samples was so funny, he made me swaller my tobacco once! Sure do miss Hee Haw

  • Junior Samples.....The Original "Cable Guy"!!

  • I have been trying to find a download of the fish story, anyone know where I can get it

  • The "World's Biggest Whopper" is hilarious. Would love to find that one too!

  • Junior was the BEST!

  • Junior Was Great Hr Really Cracks Me Up He Was So Funny His His Humor Will Never Die To All Hee Haw Fans Like Myself We Still Love & Miss You Junior!!

  • I grew up watching Hee-Haw. It was a great show! Comedy, Music, Hotties, just everything! I wish it was still on. I loved Junior, Grandpa, Buck & Roy - man was it good. We sure could use it today.

  • I liked it mostly because you get to watch when country music was at it's greatest... Conway & Loretta were on this particular episode! Thanks for the post. Jim Bob!

  • True. Lots of folks don't realize it..but Hee Haw had EVERY legendary country artist (save those who passed on earlier.) on at one time or another. Twas a POWERFUL show in many ways.

  • This is great. I love Hee-Haw. It was, and still is a great show. It displays the down-home humor the South. I am related to Junior Samples and a lot of people say we act alike. We don't look alike, but we kind of sound the same, and we are both country and PROUD of it! Remember the number to call is BR-549!
