  • very helpful ;D

  • but is there a tool to remove sata power connectors?

  • @iownudie108 No need, they are clamped

  • you sound remotely like arnold schwarzenegger

  • do u think a hair dryer would be able to "shrink" that heat shrink tubing?

  • @nuckbucker depends on how hot it can get. give it a try .. else use a lighter. ;-)

  • This is actually a lot easier than I thought it would be. Awesome. Great guide!

  • What cable sleeving tools did you use and where can i find them? love the vid.

  • @TRVABL caseking.de ... my own tools. modmymachine sleeving tools

  • sleeving is such a tedious process.

  • I really appreciate this video! I almost went at it without any tools or any knowledge how to get it on. Thank you!

  • This video was helpful now i can sleeve my fans like the rest of my computer is thank you very much!!!

  • holy crap man, i cant thank you enough for this video!!! thanks!!!!! i SUBED u :)

  • i love your accient

  • @InverseBlue thx. most people don´t

  • @ModMyMachine i dont know why its awesome :D nice vids also :P

  • what size of sleev do i need to do my ide and sata cables???

  • Really good vid...I can suggest you to use a pre heated blade to cut the sleeve.

With this method the result would be a perfectly cut sleeve without bits of fiber hanging out.

  • @valensi1988 good one .. no option for me, but nice trick

  • looks nice, but man that is some tedious work. :)

  • @GenericName007 its like girls doing makeup .. wanna look good ... do some work :-)

  • Hej I would like to sleeve my cable's to but I can't find anywhere what size I need to sleeve them 1 by one so for the 24 pins Molex 24 sleeves, could you maybe tell me what size I need to do this?

  • @Psych0D0gM4n i use 3mm for this

  • I like ur idea of sandwiching the sleeving between two pieces of heat shrink tubing, much better than using a cable tie underneath, very neat and tidy. Thanks.

  • @mrmactknife youre welcome :-)

  • @ModMyMachine

    what is the Power tool?

and could you shrink that sealing thing with an industrial Hair drier?

  • @mrmactknife use electrical tape under it to save tubing

  • Is it possible to sleeve them without removing the connector ?

  • @2ttsi since you wpuld need really big sleeve it would really look horrible. so the answer is yes, but looks shitty

  • @ModMyMachine Ah, ok, u know any way to make a tool like this or can i use a knife ?

Havent found a website that ships to my country yet...

  • @2ttsi caseking de

  • Don't use the modding tools.... It's much cheaper to modify a pen :D

  • @Dehrax ... dont post stupid things ... do a vid and show people how to do

  • excellent video mate! exactly what i was after. thank you!

  • @SunnySahotaOCN ... happy to help ya

  • #VIDEOPOSTERID#, I hate that youtube isn't going to permit full tv shows and movies. I need to to go to stream episodes (dot) net to watch tv shows and movies instead while I rather watch all of it on youtube.

Tutorial - Cable Sleeving - english

  • Nice video, music & tutorial 5/5 subscribed:)

  • hooray .. new vids comin soon

  • ModmyMachine first of all i want to say i really find your videos very helpfull. 2nd thing i wanted to say is... I am in big trouble atm,i just bought a 1500w Thermaltake psu and i cannot get the pins out of it,i have tried for 2 days straight almost without any luck... it just wont come out and yes i do have all the right tools.... now i got about $300 of sleeving sitting in my room doing nothing... HELP ME PLZ

  • cool nice

  • @din7up :-)

  • Very helpful 5/5:)

  • @gaming0wiz thx

  • thank u --it sure helped me!

  • :-)

  • they make special scissors for "fabrics" that fall apart when cut with regular scissors. I recemend using them if your sleeving comes apart.

  • if u use hot scissors you cant spread the ends no more

  • They are not hot scissors. They are scissors with a V notch all along the blades on one side or both. They use them for fabrics that fall apart with a straight cut. I haven't tested to see if these scissors actually work. But i thought they were worth a mention.

  • sounds cool .. haven´t seen them yet

  • I got a tip for all you - to push that wires easy through the sleeving just put a little tape over the ends so all the wires are taped together in one taped top....

  • good tip if you got problems with that

  • Fantastic! I really appreciate DIY tutorials of this type. Thanks!

  • nice tutuorial ModMy!

  • tape the ends of the calbes together to push it through the sleeving easier.

  • if you have problems doing it thats a good hint

  • how do you sleeve the power supply main feed to the motherboard?

  • Same like P4 or PCI Express ;-)

  • wow, this is really totally useless.

nothing better to do with your time ...

  • wow, your comment is totally useless.

nothing better to do with your time ...

  • If you think this video is totally useless then why are you watching it to begin with? Some people trick out their cars, some people trick out their sound systems, and some people, who are interested in watching this video, trick out their computers. If you're not into this kind of thing, thats ok, but for those that are, this video was really helpful. Most of these sleeving kits dont come with instructions. Although its not rocket science its nice to have a demonstration to look at.

  • And thats exactly why someone does videos like this. I mean, i don´t even get some fucking money for these videos. All i get is comments. :-)

  • And I applaud you sir :-) TY this video helped me out!!

  • Thank you very much. :-)

  • lol, if I was rich I'd throw some money at you... but I'm not...

  • hope you get rich soon :-)

  • how about for non modular?

  • is nearly the same .. but will do new vids on sleeving anyway

  • ohh.. i see.. then ill wait for your sleeving for a non modular psu^_^

  • it wouldn't be that much harder... You'll just have to take the psu out instead of unhooking the wires...

(don't have to take the psu out, but it would make it easier)

  • wo kann ich diese dinger kaufen ??

  • Gibt es jetzt exklusiv bei Caseking

  • is there any way of getting out the molex wires without using those tools? i messed up my sata cables using a needle and a pair of plyers lol

  • not really

  • Nice tutorial. Like the idea of putting a piece of heat shrink under the sleevng, will have to try that myself. 5/5

Also, I'm posting a vid tonight on cable sleeving, check it out when you have time.

    Cheers

    LazyMan

  • Will do.

  • this tutorial is perfect im going too follow this when i sleeve mine!

i hate too ask this but what was the song used its stuck in my head i heard you say something half way through but did'nt no if that was the band and how too spell it ;]

  • Band Is "Weep" .. Song "Uneasy"

    link on my website

  • So sorry i only noticed it was at the end of the video after watching it through again

    Sorry again

  • @feverofhell2 no prob mate

  • gracias amigo...ahora si voy si como poner los protectores de cables

  • i don´t speak spanish sorry

  • what are those two molex tools called?

  • molex extractors

  • Can i use a phon?

  • what is a phon ?

  • I think he/she means hairdryer (fohn or föhn)

  • thats no hair dryer ... this is a heat gun

  • ?!?!?!?

For the hair.... blow dryer sorry!

  • lmao!

    xD

  • It will not work, it's not hot enough. You need a heat gun or a lighter ( dont put the flame on the tube though if you use a lighter ).

  • he´s right

  • Do you know a way to remove ATX molex connectors and pci-e connectors with out the special tool? I allready sleeved allmost my psu, but its lacking the cables with ATX 24pin and the PCI-E... Do you know some way to build an tool which would do the same job as special tool? (Please tell that you do)

Other way your tutorial is excelent!!

    THANKSSS

  • look at the tool and rebuild it ;-)

don´t know what you can use ... must be steel

  • sewing pins and staples work.... if you look closely you'll see that you have to depress two wing-like protrusions that need to be depressed to allow the entire pin end of the cable to come out of the housing... push those in, pull and voila you are done....!!!! good luck oh and i

  • Great tutorial! I just ordered my wire sleeving kit, this will help a lot! Thanks

  • will do :-)

  • i just bought green uv sleeving and i was wondering what are the name of the tools do you use to remove the molex connectors

  • just released my own tools some months ago .. slames sleeving set ... available in my store

  • good tutorial man, thanks!

  • thk you for watching

  • Awesome video. I am just about to build my own rig and this has come in really handy Thank you :)

  • I use a lighter to burn the end of the sleeving so it wont fray and break apart from wear and tear.

  • possible way

  • Thank you, this was very helpful.

  • :-)

  • Very informative, thanks for posting. A simple mod anyone can do. This gave me an idea for my up-coming build.

  • thank you for watching

  • which tool do you need for the pci-e connectors??

  • smae as ATX ;-)

  • use scotch low!

  • what for ?

  • for join cable before insert them in the sleeving cable! -.-'

  • makes it a bit easier, but no need for me :-)

  • thanks I just figured it out lol I can also use a hair dryer. uhhg why didnt I think of that the firt time....

  • yes ... but needs to be pretty hot for that

  • What did you use to seal the end of it? I see that you had some sort of power tool to do it, where can I find this?

  • heat shrink tubing and a heat gun .. available in every home depot ;-)

  • There are plenty of El Wire procuts out there. El Wire is usually used to wrap cables or create a frame around a case window. You can find some in the El Wire section of Xoxide's Computer Lighting section. I'd link you, but YouTube won't let me.

Nice tutorial by the way :).

  • please make a video of how to put el wire with the sleeve pls pls and pls im trying to figure it out how to put el wire in my pc but is hard and look so uggly when i finnish..

  • i don ´t get what you mean with el wire ... have an example for me ?

  • A tip for anyone else, when you first remove your molex connector/3 pin connector if its a fan cable you can put a small piece of electrical tape around the pins you removed to help them slide more smoothly into the tubing.

    Rgards-Tyler

  • yes ... good point. didn´t i show this ?

  • well actually no hehe, there were a few things a would have done differently but hey what ever floats your boat. nice work btw

  • thx for your input

  • is like when u put the el wire in your pc.

like in this video '''My Thermaltake Armor part 2'''

please help me i think u are the best making the video cuz u xplain the other they do for their self

    thanx

  • i think i know waht u mean ... will ahve a look if i make one. pretty easy to do

  • please can u do the video this week please please and please!!!!

  • nice this tutorial has encouraged me to go sleeve my cables maybe a uv green. !nice vid!

  • vsf

  • thanks

  • you´re welcome

  • if you want to do it to sata cables you must cut them?

  • normally they are t-connectors, so just take off the back. sata is much easier

  • thx

  • hey dude im having real trouble trying to get the pins back into my PCI-E connectors after sleeving...it looked like you just pushed them in no problem at all. whats up with that? haha. have you got any tips?

  • you need to bend the "wings" out a little bit, so they can stay in place. ;-)

  • wow that looks like some work. good job though.

  • it really is when you do a whloe PSU

  • another top vid!! please do some more!!!

  • thx ....

  • WOW, what a space saver..seems like to much work though :D Can you buy kits for doing the sleeving that would come with all of the heat-shrink tubing and accessories? Plus, can you get them in ultra-violet reactive??

  • we got UV reactive in our shop ... the kits are not that good. every PSU is different. but when ordering in my shop i can help by mail

  • i did this to my whole PSU, turning the pc on afterwards was VERY scary! :D

  • i got this feeling too everytime

  • You Guys RULE!!!

    Thank you so MUCH!!!
