One thing that drives me nuts about this game's that for some douchebaggy reason, the game hates the one that's in the first place and praises the ones that are in third or last place.
What I mean by that's the fact that the one that leads get the WORST messages and situations while the ones that are in third or last places gets the total opposite. This especially happens in the tournament mode.
Really, what kind of game behaves like that? Mindless Mindscape...
I do know that your opponents actually have big roles in M.U.L.E. They actually help the player to get a great colony. I know, I've played this game quite many times.
I've succeded with colonies (the colony must have a total of 100000 in tournament mode) using Packer, Flapper and Bonzoid.
Besides a few problems, M.U.L.E definitely is an interesting brainstorm game. It's much better than Wall Street Kid and possibly the best Mindscape game for the NES.
@PlusmaGun almost any old racing games i can think of play that way. especially nes, even up to n64, mario kart for ex. youll be full throttle, making perfectly efficient turns, and getting caught. Nintendo has always done that.
Not bad I'm glad to see that Mindscape kept the updated NES version faithful to the orginal C64 and Atari 800 versions. Now if they did a updated port of this classic game now it would have 20 minute unskippable cut scenes, a liscened sound track consiting of crappy bands, a stealth level, rpg elements, and numorous other changes making the game so far removed from what made the orginal so great, content withheld to be sold as DLC oh and a horrible film adaptaion isn't progress great..
Nice video. I'm surprised I didn't find this sooner :P

Didn'T know this conversion existed! Nah, for this game, i'll stick to the C64 and Atari versions though. The updates graphic just aren't my thing.

MULE is technically a co-op game. If nobody plays efficiently, the colony fails and the game is over.
I can see what you mean though, the worst player is given the first choice of land grabs... etc.
It's still an iconic game though. Definately one of my favorites.
