  • I also feel that in the west, some young women who have been influenced by the media, go too far even for our culture - for example a girl at university dressed in denim shorts that show the bottom of her butt cheeks. I feel that a girl who does this is somehow not educated about how she comes across to the average man in our culture. Men will glare at a girl dressed like that. Sometimes the girls don't realise that this type of attention is..hmm.. not always useful, shall I say.

  • 'The hijab is worn to protect from stranger's glances'. As a western woman, I must admit there are times when I am sickened by the glances of certain men in our society - it's most often the ones who have a lower education (try walking past a building site for example) but educated, sophisticated men tend to be more controlled or 'civilized' about how they relate to women. A true gentleman is subtle about these things.

  • last lady summed it up perfectly... thats exactly why i decided to wear hijab!

  • The full face cover is not Islamic. Talk about ignorance...
