I've watched about two dozen of these, from the games I played, of course, and I have to ask, does anyone else notice how their taste in music is related to the game music you listened to? I hear these songs again and now I see why I like them so much, lol
I wonder how many people think of this game when they hear the "Dies Irae" chant at 6:26 - it's been used all over the place, though it would be funny if someone listened to Berlioz and went "Hey, that's the Zombie Ate My Neighbors theme!
Man this brings back memories. Me and my best friend used to play these levels for hours only to find out the next level was even harder than the last. I think we only made it to like level 20 or something. The song at 2:44 is my favorite, love the zombie soundbite...even though I have no idea what it's saying.
My first impression of this game was "I don't think so". Well, time passed and I had the lovely soundtrack lingering in my head. Then I felt an urge to play it again. Thankfully I did play it again. And this time, I finished it. Its a REALLY tough game. But with that said, its also a very GOOD game. Its so unique and fun that I was glad to see that "Ghoul Patrol" was the sequel. There does need to be a third game in the series, even if it appears on WiiWare. Pop this game in on Halloween folks.
Do I detect some Ferris Bueller inspirado going on with those trampoline-fence jumps? XD I bet that's what inspired Simon Pegg to do that (or similar) sort of thing in Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz.
\8-D
Also, that maniacal carnival clown laugh music reminds me of Killer Klowns from Out Space. XD
Yeah, and I was a big horror watcher too. Friday the 13th, Elm Street, Night of the Living Dead, Hellraiser, you name it. Yet, I was scared to play this game lol.
I like how the level names all seem like subtitles to movie sequels in the Zombies Ate my Neighbor movie series! You know, if it existed as a movie. We didn't have this game when I was growing up; I'll have to find a copy or something.
at 7 : 39 that's the one I remebered the best song. I remebered to be scared when in multiplayer, the other suddenly loses control and attacks you XD so funny after all those years. completely forgot that game.
you can DOWNLOAD this music from SNES music, google it. you'll need a plugin for winamp called chipamp. this stuff is great, I just talked to Joe McDermott, the guy that wrote this music 10 minutes ago
My auntie got me this game as a gift only because it was cheap for her lol. But I must say the music here was nice especially the "episodes" in the pyramids and with the martians. Oh yeah there were also those levels with the giant babies.
7:39 used to send me into a panic, the second it started i would use my speed boots or my monster potion. This game will always bring back good memories.
I loved this game! I never beat it without cheats. I could get to the level with the Snakeoides, but thats it. And the werewolves used to scare me when I was little, lol
one of my favorites is the one that starts at 6:25, because of it's Dies Irae chant from the middle ages. its creepy

@nintygaming Ghoul Patrol isnt really a sequel. The developers just said it was a sequel to boost sales.

Definitely up there on my list of most nostalgic games. I just recently got a Genesis again and you can bet I got this game with it.

They really should make this in to a movie it would really awsome.
beetlejuice2001 2 years ago
it would be a little whacky seeing some kids use a water gun and popsicles to kill zombies and giant baby bosses but it would be a funny movie lol
theoldgamer 2 years ago 2
I'd buy it, definitely
XvDarkArcanavX 2 years ago 2
Hell yea. But that would be the day i'd actually kill a zombie with a popsicle......or tomato's.... lol
