I took a world tour a few years ago. I traveled to Alaska and lived with the Eskimos for a week or so. It was an amazing experience, but the most fun part was killing a seal with a harpoon. We waited around a whole in the ice and when a seal surfaced, we thrusted harpoons into it. People say its inhumane, but thats the only way of survival those people have. Get your facts straight before you insult people that kill seals.
Why is an animal's cuteness the reason we should not kill it? Look at this issue clearly. How does the seal hunt affect the ecology of the system? How does this compare to bottom trawling of shrimp that devastate the ocean floor?
Oh, but I shrimp and bottom living fish as well as the stability of our oceans is not a cute issue so let's not worry about that.

The nets that they use to catch the shrimp result in massive by-catch, which is then discarded. This kills countless non-target species including sea turtles. As well, as the heavy nets are dragged across the bottom of the ocean, they destroy everything in their path and disturb sensitive systems. Finally, workers of bottom trawling companies are often exploited.

Seeing this video, brought tears to my eyes. I have been SO upset, due to what I saw on youtube..there is sick and twisted videos. I'm going around and flagging a lot of them! I was crying to this video because, I'm SO happy that these baby seals are going to live and be okay. I heard about a week ago, that its banned somewhat in Canada. Thank God.
