Great vid. Awesomeness! Bob's Night Moves was my first album along with the Doobie Brothers. For my sweet sixteen birthday. The only thing to top it was two tickets to lynard Skynard in 1978-good year!
i'm18, I've loved this song since i was roughly 3 or 4... it has been on top, the number 1 of all my favorites.. not just on YouTube, but on top of all other songs.
Great song. I used to think of this tune only in terms of the life of an entertainer on the road, but in my current career and place in my life, I realize that we all have to play the star on the stage and at some point, and we should all learn to turn the page so we don't get stuck on a path to no where.
Hey man ~ It's about bein' "on-the-road-again". Doesn't Bob describe the life of an entertainer traveling continuously? Listen to him and imagine the scene.
Im 15 My Dad raised me to this kind of music. He raised me right. I wish more youth like myself would quit listening to all this rap and garbage and turn to real music
@Jase11v Yeah, I totally agree, but it's also great that "all this rap and garbage" exists, that's what makes us different from all these rap and pop guys, and I really love being different :p
@JDKMM7 I Listen to all kinds of different music, I have all of my life. I hate to ostricize one genre, but, with rap I have to make an exception. IT SUCKS! I listen to Heavy Metal, RockAnd Roll, Country,Bluegrass,Folk and Blues. I can tolerate classical to a point. BUT. I HAVE NOT, I WILL NOT, EVER IN A MILLION YEARS, tolerate rap, hip hop, or any variation of them. they suck!!!!! Most rappers "sample" other artists work to use in their "songs" .They can't even create their own music.
This song has gotten me through some very dark times of my life. It got me through the parts of my life where I was lost and didn't know what to do. It reminded me that no matter what there is always a way to go even in the darkest times of our lives.
@FooBob420 nothing beats seger was only in the states once might never get to c him live wish he wud come to ireland and do slanecastle what a gig that wud b
I really wish the new generation pop stars would read these comments sometimes. Because the one thing i can say about these great singers vs the new stuff even if the new stuff is even good. When bob seager or any other great artist of his era did a concert if they happen to mess up on vocals it didnt matter it was still good. If the new generation messes up You will see it in the news so and so was caught lip singing. So basicly there singing to a pre recording.
This song makes me think of my days on the road, back in the late 70's and early 80's,yes his lyrics hit the nail on the head of what touring in a bus across this fine land was really like .Peace and love to you and " BOB's yur UNCLE"
Im only 18 and i respect music like this because it feels so real. I dont listen to the radio because well do i even have to tell you? i just spent time finding music like this and its worth it
What difference does age make? All that matters is good music and Bob is the man that plays great music. So all you people who dislike this song do not know what good music is yet.
@phunn1 No F*#KING kidding and he speaks the truth of what touring across North America WAS really like back in the day when being a LONG HAIRED WAS a very DANGEROUS statement cause there were so few...... Remember what happened to our friends in EASyRIDER !!!! Those boys were not too welcome and folks didn't wait for the law they took it into their own hands.... and KABOOM a 12 gauge is in your face. No these panty waist's who can't pull up their pants or put on a baseball hat KNOW NOTHING!!!
I was nine years old the first time I heard this. Cobo Hall. All these years later, Uncle Bob still kicks ass. Now that I've hit middle age, the real truth, the real pain behind all his words rings clear like Lake Superior water.
Every good song on youtube has someone claiming to be a young person listening to this Great awsome music. Great music is great regardless of your age. But i do have a great story. I am 27 and this passed my time also and i love this type of music. Everytime i go to a bar I wear my Combat Vet hat for doing time in iraq and put this song on. Everytime Someone yells Who put this song on. Ill said i Did is there a problem. No but im going to buy you a drink for putting some real music on.
@MikeTheOldguy i appreitate all you do for our country i hope that someday i can count myself as a part of those men and women who keep this country alive
@MikeTheOldguy Hey PROUD of you man that you stand up for this OLD TUNE ...I don't have your real life experience in IRAQ or COMBAT V HAT but I praise your stellar commitment. I also play this tune at the pub and I have had to defend it when some NOODLE HEAD chimes up that they don't like this old hippy music.KOODOOS TO you man and Thankyou
@Margal1983 Because it is classic and timeless tune that speaks the truth of a time that was very real and if you have ever crossed this country via the highways you would know how true it is and then his personal lyric where he reveals his feelings of "remembering what she said" well that speaks to any of us who have had hard words with someone we love that are left them unfinished. With that haunting sax's line shakes you to your soul. THAT is why people like this music now and FOREVER MORE
bo seger: this song would b muhch beter if there qwas a rap verse, like LILB #swag
on the mic for a verse of the song...cuz this olld shit sucks. i mean, yeah nice lyrics but no turntable, no drum macgihine, no synths....needsat LEAST a rap verse or better yet, get RID of the verses in this song (Because the chorus is the only good part) and replaxce the verseswith LILB and Jay-Z and maybe tupac samples
so sorry to hear that i hope your ok..im daughter was in a bad car accident too...almost died....if your dad was listening to this kind of music than he was a true rock and roller.....best music ever god bless...
Bob Seger's songs had so much soul and meaning. This video shows him with the shorter hair. I loved that long flowing brown hair during the 70's. When I hear Night Moves, Main Street and Turn the page I still see the Bob Seger of the 70's and early 80's in my minds eye. He's simply timeless.
I was there last night too. This song was amazing except for the drunken "woo" girls next to us who couldn't shut the hell up during the sax solos. Main Street was the highlight of the night for me.
Heard a kid walking through walmart listening to metallica's version of this. Asked him if he had ever heard the original. He stared at me and asked if I was retarded, and told me it was the original. I looked up, and I see his dad just staring at him, jaw dropped wide open in dis-belief. He then proceded to pick up the album with this on it (can't remember which off top of my head), buy it for the child, and tell him "We're listening to this on the way home because you just dissapointed me".
Bob Seger reminds me of full ash trays, whiskey on the rocks, and budweiser. I don't mean that in a negative way. This is a great tune. It's just the first thing that comes to mind when I hear a Bob Seger song. I guess it's because he just reminds me of people, who hang out in bars all the time. Anyway, this song in particular reminds me of grinding it out at work. You know, you're just showing up because you have to, you're emotionally devoid, and you're just pressing on (turning the page).
@beanoboo This song reminds me of hanging out with my uncle and his friends while they got high. I was only 12 and didn't smoke, but I enjoyed their company! Unfortunately, their all deceased now. They died young, 34 and 42. Wow, I really miss them!
@beanoboo Well in my opinion. You dont drink beer with this music. Its more of a Glass, some ice and whisky and thats it. you sip it throughout the song and savor every sip of the drink and word he sings.
@gabriele1704 i dont know why you would think that... maybe because you hate they way other people express there feelings and you just dont like the fact that nobody cares about yours so you bottle it up and think your better than others.... YOU FAKE BITCH
@mino3med me as well, just brings back a very different and a love i had that was like a dream, this was his favourite song and artist, so many emotional memories
im 12 and everytime i walk around wid my mp3 playin this song my friends ask y i listen to this shit this is the song that played when my dad crashed his car and passed away i was in the passenger seat and everytime i hear this song i cry @ Staticbursts rap suks it has no morals excep for tupac and some of eminem this is the god of music
@BlackOpsProdigy100 Sorry about your dad. I know it has to hurt so bad. I hope you have a faith that helps you. I lost my dad too but Im a grownup and my faith helps me. I will pray for you.
@BlackOpsProdigy100 Sorry to hear about your father. Funny the lyrics fit what happened though. Good memories for me though. Keep enjoying the classics!
@BlackOpsProdigy100 This song reminds me of my dad too and brings tears to my eyes as well..we both liked Bob Seger and Metallica's version. Cancer...
Man, nights in the car listening to Bob Seger on the 8 Track..yea I said it, lol..good memories, stood up my date for the concert in 79-80...*shaking head*
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Thank god Bob Seger could write such great songs! If only he could sing them well too. The Metallica and Madonna version of this song are much better than this old boring shit. I think Bob could spice this song up a lot by including some rap verses, maybe a guest verse by Kid Rock and one by LILB or Tupac
@Staticbursts the hell is wrong with you? Are you stupid? Or is your brain not fully developed yet because your 8? And if your not 8, grow up and open your damn eyes! This music is the best, no one wants to hear damn rap verses in this song, Because then it would be stupid and pointless like all the other meaningless and non-emotional rap music. Do us all a favor please and kindly turn the fucking page and leave :)
@thegreatkenz I agree. Why do people log onto something they don't like just to leave crappy messages? Bob Seger was the 360 degree man. He was soul, country, pop and whatever else you wanted to hear. He was also humble. That's what I liked about him. He was a poor by that made it big and still remained grounded. Bob Seger now and forever
..wow how i've dreamed endlessley to sing that song in front of a bunch of people who like todays shit music, and meaningfully sing that lyric....andybody wanna thumbs up? i honestly want this to be seen and i hope to god u want this 2 be seen too
@Staticbursts Kid this song is from the 70's Rap was not even in anyone's imagination at the time this song was recorded. When this song was recorded, people were actually writing and singing music. I hope he never pollutes his music by peppering it with Rap. Rap is not music actually. it's a litany of foul language and music stolen from other artists.
@railcarcounter ...WHY YOU ARE FUNNY TO TELL WHAT THIS PERSONS ARE DEAD ? ARE YOU CRAZY ? I NOT UNDERSTAND ALL ARE BIG PERSONS, IN THE POLITICS ART , AND THE WORDL's song, how ' Elthon John is not dead !!!!!!
@railcarcounter then why listen to it or are u some kind of sicko who only gets pleasure from u drawing attention to himself through blatantly controversial comment on a song that he hates because he has nothing better to do in his meaningless empty existence
Its ashamed that it took so long for this song to become a hit for him. He released this song when he was not so popular. Thank God he re-released it..beautiful song..:)
@mb72297 i think they are both awesome as shit. Metallicas version appeals to a heavier more modern style rock/metal fan base. as where Segers appeals to an older more classic style fan base. both kickass IMO.
@DYSYALYS Baby i am loving getting to know you more and more, slowly taking time not to miss a thing , i want to know you so close, just to touch you just to love you . Xoxoxo
Gorgeous video! First time I heard it was a bit weird after listening to the Metallica cover, but the next time I started getting more and more like it! Thumbs up on the top, too! :)
@ACEOO8 It's up there, but it's really hard to pick one song as the best, especially since most peoples favourites change from year to year when you get sick of certain songs.
Don't say the youth doesn't appreciate the classics, because I'm 14, and I can barely go an hour without listening to this, This song is too god damn good.
Bob is a golden god, when he's in front of you singing you just sit back (or jump up) and embrace the moment. So great and above all else. He's a freight train of Bad Ass

Staticbursts 1 month ago
@Staticbursts the hell is wrong with you? Are you stupid? Or is your brain not fully developed yet because your 8? And if your not 8, grow up and open your damn eyes! This music is the best, no one wants to hear damn rap verses in this song, Because then it would be stupid and pointless like all the other meaningless and non-emotional rap music. Do us all a favor please and kindly turn the fucking page and leave :)

@thegreatkenz thx and it is.... so many wonderful tunes and this is one of them...
gabriele1704 4 weeks ago
@thegreatkenz I agree. Why do people log onto something they don't like just to leave crappy messages? Bob Seger was the 360 degree man. He was soul, country, pop and whatever else you wanted to hear. He was also humble. That's what I liked about him. He was a poor by that made it big and still remained grounded. Bob Seger now and forever

@Staticbursts Kid this song is from the 70's Rap was not even in anyone's imagination at the time this song was recorded. When this song was recorded, people were actually writing and singing music. I hope he never pollutes his music by peppering it with Rap. Rap is not music actually. it's a litany of foul language and music stolen from other artists.

i hate this music. all my life i listen to this crap.
old wasted drug burnouts.from the dirbag days of the 60s.
cowards who fled our country in time of need and went to canada.
unamerican enough to buy foreign cars so we lost a whole industry to japan and korea.
long hair and dirty bodies.
ugh you people make me violently ill. i want to puke.
i hate my generation, a bunch of drug cowards who never grew up enough to raise a family
instead
give me country anyday.
go away.

@mb72297 i think they are both awesome as shit. Metallicas version appeals to a heavier more modern style rock/metal fan base. as where Segers appeals to an older more classic style fan base. both kickass IMO.
FalamsProductions 1 month ago
@mb72297 it is better for me also yes. But still this one is magic for its own reason. Its a classic rock masterpiece
