  • Do any of these exercises add width to the back? I want the V-Taper!

  • Squeeezzze!!!..squeeze squeeze squeeze...you're done

  • i have just tried this back workout and i have never felt my back like this. he truly is the god of bodybuilding!!

  • iHerb discount code SEP790

  • my backs fucked from doin this yesterday YATES you monster true ENGLISH GRIT,makes me proud to be from the midlands

  • Why not deadlift to the ground?

  • @thenewgeneration123 He said the bottom part of the exercise is more leg

  • IT'S KRIS GETHIN!!!!!! :O!!!!!!!

  • Look like they were doing barbell stiff leg deadlifts not Regular deadlifts at the end

  • @Cwm368 keeps it on the back psh psh

  • Powaaaaaaaar!

  • I thought pull ups or chins were far better than pulldowns on a machine, that's what I read most.

  • @perfectjohnboy I do both. Pulls first because they are harder then pulldowns later.

  • @perfectjohnboy from a strength standpoint yes they are but to really focus on the muscle lat pulldowns give the user more control and overload

  • i thought the dumbbell pullover was a chest exercise?

  • @Spacecowboyy Look at the range of motion...any higher it would be a chest exercise, but it's clearly not lol...

  • lol he did 125lb one arm rows like nothing. That's Dorian for ya

  • when dorian does a back workout everyone listens

  • whos the idiot who disliked?????

  • much respect to mr yates.......still in gr8 shape after all these years!!!!

  • thats a coach .)

  • The Old Bull and the Young Bull....Awesome work lads keep it up

  • Ronnie coleman: Light weight! Yeah buddy!

Arnold: I get the feel of cumming at home and at the gym!

    and Dorian: SQUEEEZE!

  • @sebbimon i lol'd

  • Trainee trying to motivate Dorian Yates. "C'mon... C'mon..." lol

  • If I have bad shoulders than I should stay away from Db pullovers right? Anyone?

  • @ddayfitness yes you should avoid them

  • Just got done doing this glad I found it it was intense

  • Dude just watching those pull downs I can feel the strain in my back

  • yates is the man, although i don't exclusively train H.I.T, i appreciate a former champ that is so brutally honest and straightforward in the world of bodybuilding.

  • I been doing his workouts for 3 weeks now, belive me it works!! If you do it the right way,you will feel the pump for 2 days.

  • SQUEZZE GODDAMIT!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • He didn't do the YATES ROW!

  • they are only doing 1 working set? is that ideal rather than the 3 set to faliure?

  • @JamieLaurenceIves this is a high intensity workout popularize by Mike Mentzer. Because training to failure makes more muscle.

  • Shocks me that the Gold's Gym they're training at doesn't have a pullover machine. I've seen little shitbag gyms have it and they don't.

  • @meetchvb I don't think it's Gold's Gym they're at...it could be Dorian's own gym "The Temple". Plus it could very well have one but it was being used at the time...Dorian's workouts are all about intensity and if you end up having to wait for a machine it takes away the intensity so you have to adapt. Plus free weights are far more effective in lots of situations than machines especially when it comes to intense workouts

  • SQUEEEEEZE

  • Hes a lucky guy

  • Did this workout today and threw up in the fitness first changing room, best workout ever

  • Badass , I'm doing his work out and I feel stronger..

  • is this a big muscle building programme?

  • haha on the close grip pull downs, that faggot was swinging his body and yates was like, "keep the body still man" lol dont fuckin use momentum just to lift heavier, no one cares!

  • @hayzuz3 LOL that "faggot" is Kris Gethin.

  • @applekaw never heard of him

  • @hayzuz3 hahahaha he's a professional body builder but meh.

  • on the deadlift i bring the bar down to the floor all the time and i still feel tension in my back

  • Thumbs up if you saw that blonde chick working out arms next to them : ))

  • whats that shirt he's wearing, oh yeah DORIAN YATES haha

  • So wait, its 6-8 reps, of one set?

  • getting to train with Dorian Yates, I'm jealous as hell of those two. I can't believe all the people walking past like "oh, there's a legend, no big whoop."

I would have ruined this video. "HOLY **** IT'S DORIAN MOTHER******* YATES!!! OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!"

  • @HeavyMetalBoise lol...judging by the age of the people passing by they have no idea who he is. Im an old guy so im with you...I'd kinda freak out a bit.

  • @HeavyMetalBoise Dorian Mother Fucking YATES! Born and Bred in the same area as me fucker!

  • simple teaching thats bodybuilding not as so complicated that you cant even recall PERIOD

  • Hey Dorians got some charisma!

  • LOL@2:49: Keep the body still, man!

  • funny description, doesnt say anything to me cause im not a house bum.

  • dorian warms up with 100lb dumbbell row lol. that not even my max

  • Thank you for posting up these vids!!

  • Damnit what I would give to workout with dorian!

  • ok I admire Yates but 11 sets for back? isnt that too soft??? just asking..

  • @musclesandfun4life That's how he trains. Low volume, high intensity; it's what he's known for. Check out his training video "Blood and Guts."

  • @meetchvb what that wasn't even that intense!!! are you kidding me??

  • dorian yates is very strong .... he isnt old but .....

  • probably ripped from dvd. nothing is free

  • @levellifemars This is free.

  • haha big diesel couldn't resist jumpin n for back day

  • DY is prob the ultra beast .... Otherwords GOD !!!

  • Dorian Yates is the man!

  • SOOONGS PLEASE : )

  • yates trains so differently to other bodybuilders

  • @Diocletian09 His training is a much more "efficent" long term method. If you truely take a set of a given exercise to all out failure, why must you perform that same exercise again? That's the big concept. His form, especially on back exercises, is something everyone should learn from. If you aren't feeling the muscles working, who gives a crap how much you lift? I mean this isn't powerlifting.

  • @12packeralger I agree completely. Efficient is definitely the way to describe it.

  • I tought training back after the day u trained ur bicep was some kind of over taining?.. guess i was wrong ha

  • my favorite body part to work on haha... i can definitely use doing some of these workouts

  • This entire workout is fantastic; especially his chest and biceps day. You get such a great pump. Training to failure is definitely the best way to go.

  • Dorian Yates is the Shiz!

  • Dorian knows not to a supinated grip on deadlift. This grip = injury, as it did for me, in a big and bad way

  • @Musclegodbrendan1 True, as one of the biceps can be vulnerable. I just always perform them at the end of back day so I don't have to use as much weight. Deads can be very dangerous if you don't use perfect form/keep the back arched.

  • Haha dorian yates couldn' resist doing a back workout, no wonder he had one of the best backs of all time. How were the other gym users in the background able to go about their own workouts? If I was in the gym and I saw dorian yates doing dumbbell rows, I'd whip out a pencil and notepad!

  • @2010nerazzurri I dont understand either. They're like "Oh, Dorian is here doing a dvd again. Well.."

  • Haha dorian yates couldn' resist doing a back workout, no wonder he had one of the best backs of all time

  • @2010nerazzurri

I thought that too. All the other workouts he just trains the other lifters, this one he couldn't resist!

  • What's the average height for pro bodyduilders?

  • @TheLeilisa I would say 5'7''. Some people, taller

  • @TheLeilisa between 5'8 and 5'11. You will often see that taller BB's have lesser leg development as they have problems squating/leg pressing do to their longer limbs. Shorter guys usually get overpowerd in the mass department (they obviously don't carry as much.) In addition, lack of heigth hurts in the prejuding comparison's when each guy hit the same pose side-by-side. Sometimes they will appear smaller then they are next to a taller competitor (Posing is all about fooling the eyes.)

  • wow, dorian is the king of the weights, honestly hes still huge and lean, and of all the pros hes probably the only one who know how to use correct form, hes got a great philosophy and is so full of knowledge that you only get from experience.great guy.

  • how good would it have been if dorians old training partner had been there too, shouting LETS GET NASTY to these new recruits.

  • good to hear what he advocates for the best back exercises, he was known for his massive bakc afterall. suppose this shows that or he wouldnt have had the guys do them...i just expected to see chins.

  • i wonder why when dorain trains back he does the negitve part of the rep faster then other bodyparts?

  • one of the hardest workouts i ever did it in my life. felt great!

  • are these good for cutting phase?

  • @kamakaji Yes.

  • Thats a HELL of a back workout, I can't wait to try that today!!!

  • pullover for back??????dy still the man.......

  • pullover for back??????

  • @fukidomev2 ofcourse

  • @fukidomev2 i feel it more in tris and chest

  • @fukidomev2 try to slow the movement, or go heavy. i feel my back stretching

  • @fukidomev2 i guess make sure it doesn't turn into an extension, keep your arms slightly bent and dont change the angle of the bend or lock it out at the top. also maybe you could do partials with the first half of the pullover which is more lats?

  • @liiiiiiiiiike What I have found beneficial is to keep the dumbell closer to the body (i.e. just far enough away to keep it out of contact with the head/shoulders/chest. Also, think of digging the middle back into the bench as you pull the dumbell over (this contracts the whole back causing the lats to take more of the brunt then say the tris/chest.) A great exercise for forced reps at the end (cause' the tri's will still often fail first - so just have someone ligtly push up on the dumbell

  • I'm surprised we get these vids for free. They are better quality than many bodybuilder DVD's even by IFBB pro's. Thanks a lot to bb.com and Dorian, the ultimate hardcore no-bullshit no-fancycrap trainer. Listen to what he has to say, Dorian tells it how it is, cut the fitnessguru nonsense away, this is real advice. TAKE IT LIKE A MAN!!!

  • @SinisterSkip Well said.

  • @SinisterSkip ur dam right bro ...XD

  • Awesome.... wanna see leg day :D

  • @GianCZita it is on youtube lol

  • I bet that guy training with Yates wakes up sore tomorrow

  • @matthewbasa I know I did after revamping how I trained back following this vid

  • @matthewbasa you get more sore with high volume that low volume so if your training for soreness just do 10 sets per exercise and you won t get up the next day

  • @barbosa973 its called a joke... and who the hell "trains for soreness" LOLZ

  • @matthewbasa no one its just an example

  • @matthewbasa His name is Kris Gethin and he is fucking monster. His workouts are tough as hell .. just goes to show how much you can improve :)

  • @matthewbasa knowing yates' intensity he'll probably be in a wheel chair for a month lol. Great vids :)

  • @matthewbasa Gethin is a warrior

  • Awesome vids, Dorian is a great trainer.
