Go to sleep is talking about how the government tries to shut up all the revolutionist and people who question/criticizes the government, they want them to stop asking questions and be ignorant about whats happening and hence go to sleep. Thats why people use the term "wake up people"

This song directly relates to the 9/11 conspiracy and society's habit of moving along when something "big" is "happening." The many buildings collapsing and the reverse spells this out, as well as the title of the song. Society should "go to sleep," while the government keeps "the loonies from takin' over."

The building reconstruction animation might have been accomplished by rendering the people walking backwards and the building demolishing, then reversing that video.

Radiohead dedicated "The Bends" in part to Bill Hicks. Now if you go listen to Hicks you will understand every word of this song and what the band tried to convey with "Hail to the Thief". I would actually love to see an entire movie done in this style. Where the actors are very real-seeming but all entirely artificial cg models that don't hide that they are cg models. Periodically their faces will begin to look more polygonal for artistic and character-psychological reasons.

The world around the characters can also alter itself drastically to reflect the character's psychology - such as buildings coming down here. Even if the film might be a 'serious' psychological drama.
