  • the Es i did in there

  • Classic. I went at least 40 times(43 now) Great place and happy memories if my memory serves me. Joy Division live were beltin.

  • the best club ever, end of

  • I was there - it wasnt that great a night - u couldnt move it was so packed, park was playing loads of his own remixes and boring vocal garage, thankfully pickering was there to pump it up a bit - even if his mixing was all over the place.

  • man, this must've been one hell of a party. i would definitely take a time machine just to go there and party!

  • I was there that night great happy days lol

  • "Alright, what's yer name... how many have yer had?" :)

  • THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN AGAIN. WHERE'D ALL THE GOOD MUSIC GO DAMNIT?!?!

  • I loved its old industrial feel to it! Thats what I loved about that place... If I was to open a club... I would replicate that... A pure fucking mad den! :)

  • search gary adshead on soundcloud website for a old school mix with a twist

  • class

  • looks overcrowded and the vibe here seems edgy and slightly threatening.

However Graeme Park was one of the best dj's of all time.

  • Looks amazing. The vibe aint dead though despite ome of the comments on here, go to Berlin (and im a manchester resident)

  • RIP Haceienda, never got the chance to fucking go but my dad lost so many braincells in here it in't true!

  • TIME MACHINES ARE POSSIBLE.M-MC2 IS FLAWED, LETS GET BACK T0 1988! LOL

  • A bygone era.... One we're not likely to see again. :-) What a shame that a night out now involves watching coked up people trying to look hard. For shame....

  • WTF ? even the camera man is off his tits

  • I live just 2 floors up from that very dancefloor!

  • @fdama The old hacienda was demolished around 2002 to make way for the flats you live in. shame :(

  • what were the people like that went to this club?

  • god damn it i wish i could have been alive to see this

  • yeah what is that first tune?

  • quadrant park of this era had better atmophere. videos dont lie . hac had best music & dj's though.

  • Whats the tune at 1:00?

  • whats the song at 4:31?

  • very proud to say I was there going mental o the front of the stage, still got the ticket stub, yep there are some casulties, but some strong survivours too, the music stands the test for me, though this is pickering set and we were the Biddulph, nakid night crew, what a night.

  • My god what I would give...

  • is there a lot of casulaties of people who used to go places like the hacienda? Most of the people who used to go will be at least in their 40s now, are a lot of them a mess or did it not effect them too badly?

  • i can't be sure but I imagine this is new years eve 1990, the day after new years eve 1009 is new years day 1991

  • Atmosphere looks awful. Im surprised!

  • Really precious video! THANX for uploading!

  • even house music was harder then. thank god places like noizetek in manchester now keep the spirit of rave alive.

  • I can almost smell the dry ice and sweat. God I miss that place :(

  • 88-90 was great, sadly it was getting taken over by gangsters by 91 right up to its closure in 97

  • blimey. memory flood. I actually have the tape from this night too.

  • I was exactly the right age to have gone to the Hacienda...sadly I never went

  • i wish i could wind back the clock ....................that daylight savings thing is a bit confusing

  • sweet tunes!!!!

  • actually thought the Hacienda was very over rated myself.Just that the pills at the time were very good.Would have have been buzzing my tits off stood in a bus stop in them days.

  • @snotnosedlilkid

    hahaha....good point!

  • Or it is from 30 seconds in. Can't help with the very first bit, sorry!

  • The first track was Jingo by Candida.

  • @CJOKUSAP yeah man you nailed that one by jingo !!!!!

    top shot mate.

  • @goonchistaw what remix is it??

  • @cameronbailey don't know mate, there are a lot of em.

  • what the name of the first track?

  • so jealous...

  • Jingo (UK House Mix) 7:48

  • Isn't the first tune Jingo?

  • I floated around that place a few times in my university days!!!

  • This one is classic

  • ...rare footage indeed...how did you come by this?...

  • Awww blissful memories indeed...felt like I was back in the day love peace and doves!

  • some footage of the hacienda as it should be.. at last!!

    good work..

  • if you like it watch "lartderaver" ( the art of rave) 1990-1992 about the parisian pandemonium.........

  • 4.51 is "get into the music "

  • @nettoblaster not likely, you have no idea

  • The Hacienda post 89 wasn't that great. Mainly full of posers, tourists & those lucky (or unlucky) enough to get past the psycho doormen. Konspiracy & Thunderdome (Oldham Road) were more cutting edge musically than the Fac51. Personally, I preferred the Boardwalk & the Venue (best club on Withworth St West!) Then again, what do I know?????

  • @bitterfuse95 Sounds like you and I went to the same clubs - remember the herbal tea party? Atlas, Nowhere, The Dry Bar... ISOBAR... um I'm racking my brain now...

But jup... Cool memories! - But I'm a Hacienda goer by heart!

  • would it fuck!

  • Amazing!!!

  • @nettoblaster

sankeys 'was' a good club, but it aint legendary or ever will be by any stretch of the imagination. Every raver worth their salt past and present know of the hacienda, it is legendary

  • best nights ever back then if we couldnt get in the hac we used to go to the pleasuredrome for a bit of the old dj welly!!!!them were the days when the northwest was leading the way in house music!!!!wigan pier, maximes, hac, pleasuredrome, shelleys, park hall, quqdrant park,to name but a few off the best clubs!!!!my favourite music was the garage from the hac around 91!!!!!

  • ha im from carlisle can remember been in the hac in about 90-91 me mates dad gave us a brand new lada so we could go clubbing!!when in the hac i found a tag heuer watch and some lad asked me if id found one?? is said no so i went to find me mate when i was returning i could see a gang of mancs looking about for it then the lad who asked me spotted me so started making his way towrads me so i done one the lada was going like a ferrari threw manchester lol...

  • PLLEEEAAASSSEEE look at my Manchester N.Y.E video on my page and see what you think!!!

  • The hacienda must be rebuilt

  • I dont read the posts, Track 2 with deee lite samples, is Deep in My Heart by Clubhouse The David Morales Dub

  • White Doves in 91 :O)

  • come on please, someone has to know the name of the first track...

  • @josephuia

Good point. Still needs an ID this one!

  • @josephuia i'm pretty sure its a remix of jingo

  • @josephuia It's a remix of Jingo, there have been loads though so wouldn't like to guess which one

  • This place was legend in its day and is still legend now! dunno bout anyone else but if it was still there - i'd still be going!

  • Someone give me a time machine!

  • I see this footage has been digitaly remastered...lol

  • P.M.S.L YOU TOTAL TOOL.

  • old bastard

  • The Hacienda was legendary right throughout the world during it's peak of 88, 89 into 90. It's almost impossible to describe the influence this place had on the entire dance scene and also the city of Manchester.

  • @outy1978 The world? Steady on.

    The UK, aye.

1988, communication was at a minimum.

    Keep it real yeah.

  • @nettoblaster are you for real it was only demolished in 02, you are obviously fucking clueless or you wouldn't say that. It was legendary worldwide by the end of the 80's!

This was the place that brought us the likes of Happy Mondays & Joy Division. And knocking it down 5 years after it shut made it what it is today? That comment is so fuckin dimwitted! haha you fuckin dimwitted twat!

  • @skagman76 death sells. and i'd rather be a dimwitted twat than a sad old twat like you!

  • @nettoblaster I'm 34 you little bitch and i still go to raves, outdoor all weekenders but my heroin addiction gets in the way sometimes :)

  • @skagman76 do you fuck you watch jeremy kyle and spend all day trying to suck your own dick

  • @nettoblaster

I think that proves that you know dick and are probably 15 years old.

    Nice one.

  • @nettoblaster Sorry you are wrong . . .It was a world Icon in it's day.. . .not just after.

People who knew nothing about the scene had heard of the Hac!

  • The real ravers don't even thimk about clubbin anymore

  • @spangla777 - Nothing good about that. The oldskool crew should put down their pipe and slippers and get out. The scene needs them.... Some great oldskool gigs being put on these last few years.

  • @spangla777 Or do they know where to go anymore?

  • anyone know the name of the track playing at 2.00 mins in?

  • i still got my pass from this night ....

classic night out & boom @ midnight ....

  • I aint a Manc but love everything the Hacienda and Fac51 stood for. For the guys that think they cant party like this nowadays you really need to goto Sankeys and the warehouse Project!! Viva la House Music!!!

  • this makes me honored to have been a part of it from the start. i carry memories that will stay with me all my life from the friends i made to the music i raved. in all i am proud to have been saw and danced my ass off...

  • What a tremendous vibe! I'm a little too young to ever been able to visit the place at its peak, and boy does it hurt... You can't party like this nowadays...

  • yes you can. session ON!

  • I know, nowadays all you get is clubs with shit music because all people care about is going out to get drunk.

  • @joydivisionfanboy |Too right mate. It's gone back to being all about the booze and the birds and the saturday night syndrome. Just the kind of thing the movement was against.

  • well not everywhere. there's still plenty of people who want to bosh some and rave it up. but what does annoy me is the rave scene getting commercialised, doing it because its 'cool'..a la 'nu rave'...thankfully it seems to be dying down a bit, haven't heard the horrible term in a while

  • RARIDADES Skool !!!

  • As a Mancunian, I wish I was around when the Hacienda was in its prime.

  • WHATS THE TUNE AT 4.51 PLEASE?

  • Dj's Rule - Get Into the Music (Cyber Mix)

  • Thanks mate

  • Thankyou outy1978

  • This was one hell of a Club, remember my cousin took me, and we got in even though I was a bit underage lol

Don't make clubs like this anymore! MoS "The Box" is the closest I found to the sound,

RIP Tony Wilson and Factory Records, New Order, Joy Division all legends thanx to this place!

  • the closest thing i got to go as good as the hacienda was the clubs in ibiza lol dont think they play this stuff no more, wish they did though!! rave scene is dead!! bring back yester year!! lol

  • Good Tunes,Good Times!!

  • sometimes i feel like throwing my hands up in the air and wish we cud all go right bak there!!

  • i know what you mean even though i never been to the hacienda unfortunately ,but i relate 'cause i miss stonehenge and the other free festivals from the '70's and early '80's .good times always get squished by s.u.o.e.u.

  • this has just taken me back to the great days of the Hac and those bloody queues to get in. Good days - music still sounds fab.

  • i was there 91 N.Y.E . . don't remember it much . the night before there was 20 of us from blackley/crumpsall/moston in CLUB MAZZO , AMSTERDAM . happy days . thanks for the upload ;-)

  • yo mate

ladders back here with a new email

    u still here

    happy new year

  • It was the best club. Wish I was back there then... feeling buzzy and nostalgic.. shame but COME ON!

  • Try a youtube search for 'Haçienda Fac 51 Manchester"

Check out that 3D model. It's amazing!

  • Excelent video men, congrats for your desition to upload this!!!

Now I can finally see how was the FAC51 inside, not the one that is footaged in 24 hr party people.

    The vibe rocks!!!!

  • Fuck! I wanna be back there!!!!

  • Travelled all the way from Holland to feel the Manchester vibe in the early 90's ...fucking magical place!!!

  • This was a great night. All my mates were there dancing on the left handside of the stage and on the wall.

Great song at the end, Blow, I think. Mad with the trumpets.

    Best club in the world.

  • the thing I remember most about the Hacienda was when a really stomping tunes came on the dancefloor shook so much it made the records jump on the decks good times!

  • That gave me goosebumps!

  • Despite the quality of the video and the fact it would have been better in 89 or 90 this is the best footage of the Haç I've seen.

    Genuinely buzzing from that!

  • I hear ya. 88-89 was the peak of the Hac, no question, but the Hac in 91-92 looks still a rockin night out.

  • @KingStreetMassif 91 was better than 89 and 90. More subtle, but definitely better IME.

  • @KingStreetMassif I agree, proper buzzing I am. 1989 was the year for me.

  • My missus, my best mate and I are there somewhere. Got the tape of the night off Graeme too. Good times to say the least.

  • Wish I had been there. Raging!!!!
