@oriolska Harvey Pittel of the University of Texas at Austin is quite comparable in my opinion.

@homeskillet544 Harvey Pittel even plays this solo. They sound very much alike. I'm surprised Pittel doesn't get as much recognition today as Mule did.

@0oihazcheezburger that's because harvey pittel sucks and if you think that he's a skilled performer in any sense of the words then you're either deaf or one of his students

@oriolska Claude Delangle is probably the closest to his proficiency across the horn, but nobody can really match him. My favorites are Delangle, Dr. Kenneth Tse at Iowa, Dr. Rousseau at Minnesota, and Nobuya Sugawa. Google any of them and you'll be blown away. There are obviously other amazing players out there, but those are my favorites.
