James Durbin is really good but he is not Adam Lambert. Adam is the whole package. Adam is a superstar and will go far. No one can sing like Adam and to try is to fail.

when i was watching this episode of American idol, i had a feeling one there was going to be some sort of beatles reference in this episode because each contestant sang a song by an artist that inspired them most. and it turns out my favorite contestant just happened to love my favorite musican Paul McCartney :) James Durbin....you have very very good taste in music :) and quite an amazing voice

I think he is absolutely amazing! :) Personally, I don't even get why he is even being compared to Adam Lambert. James and Adam are totally different! There are some similarities but nothing to say he is trying to act like him or in the same league as him.

Honestly, if you cut out casey in the cold play song they sung James and Scotty would have kicked butt! So, id like to see that duet!

I think this is an amazing performance. James is my first, Casey's my second choice, Scotty Third. Pia would've been in that mix if she was still here. Scotty has some work to do yet, but I get his appeal-- a great sound.

This guy is great. Just think with a little more experience, he will be awesome. Just remember when you compare him with other artist that have already become famous, they had to start somewhere. James is just starting out and with time, the sky is the limit. To the person that said Bon Jovi kicked ass when comparing him to James, sure, look how much longer Bon Jovi has been singing. This guy is a natural at every thing he has done.

I just don't get you guys comparing Lambert to Durbin. They really do have different styles. The only similarity I see is they both rocked the competition.

Sadly Lambert sold out to POP after the competition ended. Hopefully Durbin will continue rocking.

However they are both great just different. IMHO

By the way, I loved this as much as any performance so far in this competition. Most of the ones left have hit at least one awesome performance so far. Durbin has 2 or 3.

One way you can tell how well these kids really sing is to listen to the original version first and then to the Idol version. If you do it with a song like Brooke White singing "You're So Vain" you'll clearly hear why she didn't win. But this guy has the goods. He's the best of this 10th season - not by much, there are some others who might have won in years past - but he is fantastic and deserves to win. I think Paul McCartney is proud of you man for taking one of his best songs up a notch.

Just as good or better vocals than Lambert. And I am a huge Adam Lambert fan from the beginning. There are a few traces of Jon Bon Jovi here. From a vocal stand point, it is James versus Pia Tosani. This years Idol is my favorite so far and I haven't missed a show in ten years. I love James, and I am a straight married man.
