Superedit back then in the early 2000's did the Bay colony railroad use the framingham subdivision to go back to attleboro? Or did they pass the cars to CSX from the Medfield junction?
the tracks havent been used in about a year. one of the locomotives has been sitting in medfield, near the water treament plant. and from what i heard the needham medfield line might be turned into a rail trail
The CF7 was used occasionally. I saw it running on the Cape trash train a few times. It was sold along with another BCLR Geep to the Grafton and Upton railroad here in Mass., and it's being repainted into their colors. It doesn't run as of now, but that could change!
Wow, I live nearby and had always just assumed these were dead tracks. Its amazing to see a train actually on them. Are they dead yet? Do they ride these tracks all the way back though Dover/Needham or do they get off at that crossing in Medfield?
BCLR used to service the Needham branch, but that line has been all but abandoned for years. The Millis branch is still running - at last report it was finally getting some new ties after a good-sized derailment last fall.
If you think those tracks were bad, you should go to Dartmouth, Bay Colony only other MA line. It is in so bad condition it is borderline illegal to run trains on them.
Unfortunatly, GAF is closing the Millis plant. GAF personal have been decomminisioning the plant for the last 8 months. The target closing is sometime in April. The status of the warehouse on Craftsman Dr is uncertain. Steve D
Dunno - I'm guessing that the B-boat will find a new home quickly (perhaps on sister railroad Seminole Gulf in Florida.) And there seems to be a booming market even still for aging Geeps, so we'll see.

Shoot man cause the CF7 is my all time favorite locomotive. If they aren't gonna run, I'd love to. But I'm in California so that'd be a trip.

Did they ever use the CF7 at 6:33? And what has happened to that locomotive up until now?

Great Video! You dont catch action like that anymore. Nothing like the sound of a naturally aspirated Geep!

The Train was bouncing on the track. how old is the track anyway.
iu4tjiud 3 years ago
It isn't all that old - but the railroad that manages it isn't exactly known for throwing money at maintenance issues.

@Superedit update - the b-boat landed in Florida on Seminole Gulf, the Geep is still in MA though hasn't been seen running in awhile.
