@Christopher711 I do not know. You'd have to look it up online. Different campgrounds are owned by businesses, state governments, and federal government. You'd have to look up the campground up online and call them.
I'm not homeless (but I feel for their situation), I'm a Norwegian who like to travel the simple way (and pay less). Advice about non-toxic "anti-sun" (??) and in-detail parking advice is really useful. When near forests (at least traveling in Europe) I like to sleep in a tent. Any advice in the US?
Through the years I have been mugged a few times, I just give what they ask for, and to this day, no big problems (most people don't really want to hurt you).
@jeff4justice Thanks for reply. After reading my own reply, I feel I left out a bit. The reason I like the woods (not only because of the scenery), is that I can spread out a little bit. No people around my tent who may (or may not) react on how I live (I don't have work, so not much money, and that's why leaving Norway). Since many cities around Europe is near forests, I did not think about how it was around US cities (sorry). I tend to walk or use bus to get where I want to be.
@Damnedsoul53 It's happened once by fear-based homeless phobic jerks. And it's not living free until insurance, DMV fees, and fuel are no longer required.
@Damnedsoul53 I am very discrete where I park. I have only had cops called on me once when I was not discrete. If you park somewhere where there are many vehicles parked outside like by an apartment building then it's not likely gonna be a problem. If you park in a residential area where most cars are in driveways or garages then standing out as an unfamiliar vehicle can cause suspicion.
@mkoujan Only each person can decide what to do. How you react to police is your responsibility. I was approached by the police only one time when parking in an empty parking structure after hours by movie theater in Pleasant Hill, CA. The cops asked for my ID, I have it, explained I was homeless and they told it it was illegal to sleep in a car there. They allowed me to stay and left me alone. Some area like Venice Beach and SF are hostile to mobile homeless however.
@jeff4justice Also, try to always be discrete and hide out of sight of others as much as possible or find a group of other mobile homeless and if you feel safe with them park where they do. Just understand the laws and risks. Or, as I say in the video, sign up for the safe parking programs in Santa Barbara and Ventura if you can.
@mkoujan It's illegal in certain areas only. To find out if it is illegal in your area, contact the police department, a local elected official's office, or likely most hopefully is a city clerk who can look up and see if there's a law on the books. Next, if the police see you, it's up to the police whether they enforce the law or not. Some areas are lenient and some areas like Venice Beach and SF have a reputation for harassing mobile homeless folk.
Out of all the videos I have seen with regard to doing just that; YOURS IS THE MOST THE BEST & MOST INFORMATIVE. Thanks for sharing what you know. It took allot of application on your part to share much of what I have seen and this perticuclar vid. I will spend a bit more time on your other vids and hopefully offer what ever feed back I can to help in your endeavor to help us be that much more safer, productive & happier when we must live our vans or cars. gascanman

dont ever park in a middle class or rich neighborhood. they paid so much for their house they certainly dont want to see people living for free.
Damnedsoul53 3 months ago
@Damnedsoul53 I'll park wherever I please thank you. If they choose to live as rent or mortgage slaves then that's their choice.
jeff4justice 3 months ago
@jeff4justice what i meant by that is they probably gonna call the cops when they see someone living for free -_-
