I LOVE the Quartermaines they are my favorite family in Soaps period. This one in particular is really good. Had all the Quartermaines on the show at the time in one day except for Jason. Lila was such a wonderful and charming woman I do wish GH would've used her more before they rudely got rid of her and she died. One of the biggest mistakes GH made was cutting the size of the Quartermaines down to the point where there are more non-Q's in the house than Q's. :'( Just horrible.
@AlbieGray Lila also used That s quite enough to Edward and he would SHUT UP, lol. Lila was the lady that Monica and Tracy never were. Lila was so much stronger then any of them. She didnt like everything they did but she didnt use it as a weapon ....she LOVED each and every one UNCONDITIONLY.
@AlbieGray I know I miss her SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much. I think of Lila I think of my beloved grandma. They really dont make women like Lila / Anna Lee anymore.
Lila had the last word on everything in the family. Even if it wasn't her house. I lllooooovvveeee her blunt honesty telling it exactly as it is and her unforgivable bitchiness is so refreshing. Shes the reason I started watching this show way back in 1991.
I loved Lila, but I hate to see her like this. She must have been really sick. All the same, its a shame what Gh did to this lovely and remarkable woman.
Actually, Anna Lee wasn't sick. She was just very very old. In this scene, she was 90 years old...age took its toll but Anna was never sick up until her death. She had the wheelchair, but she had had that since the late 80's...Anna wanted to work up until the end but GH just didn't let that happen, and I agree, as lovely and remarkable a woman as it comes! I admit it was hard to watch scenes that last few years as Anna did "look" sick, but I was just thrilled to still be able to see her.
Anna Lee was involved in a car accident(which she's lucky to have survived it) in 1982 that left her paralyzed from the waits down, but she still played the character even confined to a wheelchair truly a great actress.
@traveshamockery Actually, Lila wasn't confined to the wheelchair until somewhere between 1989-1993(it was during Jane Elliot's stint at the time). They have the episode where they wrote it into the script. Monica was having the house renovated and She was injured during the reconstruction.
@VenusMonkey Ah, thank you. I'm glad they explained it on the show. Maybe I should just read her memoir and see if that explains the reason for going from a cane to a wheelchair. Perhaps due to arthritis?
I watch this and I just miss the whole family. It's like what 2-3 family members left

lila had more power in her little finger than anyone else in the qs combined.

If ever there was a catch phrase that Lila had, it was always a forceful, "Oh, Edward, SHUT UP!" Even in her old age, she had that SPIRIT!

Did she have physical problems prior to the accident? I think I've seen some clips of her with a cane.
traveshamockery 2 years ago
i think the accident occured earlier because i too have seen scenes where she had the cane prior to 1982.

@4Micstromme You can tell that it was hard for Jane Elliot(Tracy) to look at Anna Lee(Lila) in this scene.
