@oneriver505 the name of the hotel is called Zac Luk. You can't miss it if you take a collectivo to El Remate.

This made me smile.. I went to Tikal with my dad, stepmom and best friend Nov 10.. it was far beyond my wildest dreams.. I toured tikal at 5am with a tour guide Temple IV to watch the sunrise.. it was spectacular.. the walk up was crazy u can't even see ur hands infront of u its so dark in the jungle and all u hear is howling and rustling in the branches ontop of you.. I don't know how the ancient mayans did it with just the light of the moon.. ahhh I WANT TO GO AGAIN!

I did Tikal in the early AM and watched the sunrise from on the top of the temple. AWESOME experience if you get the chance and highly recomended. The howler monkeys are insane sounding as the jungle comes alive :-) And the hotel mirador del lago on the lake in flores was 15 US a nite.

Uxmal and Palenque are a great site to visit if you are interested in Mayan ruins. I would have to say Chichen Itza is the worst. I really need to get my ass on over to Tikal, it looks beautiful.

@MrSkyun No need to worry, the dog did not get run over. I can vouch for that and have the footage to prove it. It just seems like he did on the vid. That dog has great reflexes and I'm sure he'll be around for awhile with that skill set.

Wow It feels so nice when somebody outside the country comes to this place and thinks is awesome, I am so proud of being from Guatemala, even though there is a lot of violence in the capital city there are still places where the view is great, and historical monuments make you feel that some kind of big civilization lived there thousands of years ago.
