is anyone there who can suggest me a good link to find out more about this anime? I watched it, i get the plot, i get some themes but it seems too simple to me. I think i'm missing something.
Hey everybody! I just released my solo album "Mirror Image" that contains dark electronic upbeat and ambient songs heavily inspired by the anime Texhnolyze. If you're interested you can check out the songs on my youtube page, and links to my myspace page and places to download the full album are on my youtube channel as well :) .
it would've been great if ran and ichise had one last scene with each other before the end, but that would be sortve a cliche ending that modern animes sometimes have. well this is my favorite anime so im not complaining.
Just so there's no mistake, let's be clear: *everyone* dies at the end. Every last one of them. Ichise dies in the end simply because he runs down- there's no more power for his mechanisms. ALL DEAD. That's what comes of a civilization run by the insane....
I didn't think I was affected by this anime until this song came on and I realised the ending... amazing stuff and madhouse proving they are the best at what they do, yet again. Imported the cd from the states and now v happy. Really recommend this anime to anyone looking for something a little deeper/different and it builds up to a final pay off. Don't think this was a hit in the UK but please take a chance and give it a go. Beautiful series with style and longevity!
I just realised after doing a little reasearch, Ichise killed everybody, cause Kannon (Or whatever the fuck his name was) was sort of like the nervous system for all the shapes that were rooted into the earth, and he knocked the guys head off simoutaniously killing everybody.
But man Ichise literally knocked that guys fucking head off. I wonder why his Texnolyze still works tho, maybe cause of the Doc's cells, or maybe just through sheer willpower.
Ichise is the last man standing? I liked this ending. Even tho so many people died and also Ran :*( it feels like they're not really dead you know. Like it feels more like they're being liberated. Except for Ichise, who is neither dead, nor one of the Shapes, he is the last remnant of a Human civilization, I found this sad because I wanted Ichise to be with Ran in the end.
This anime is amazing!!! It's a real work of art. It makes you think. When I first saw then ending I bawled my eyes out. I still do when I re-watch it. By the way, I'm pretty sure Ichise dies (as does everyone else, a true tragedy). If you ever notice in the anime, every time that white flower [grown by Ran] shows up, someone dies. Since the flower was shown to Ichise right from the beginning, he was doomed from the start. The prophecy came true too...
This is different from most anime. This is truly art. You are not supposed to think, did he die, or didn't he. It's the feeling, when you've watch it that matters.
I guess I know what you mean, but you (or at least some people) still think about what might happen after all these events. And I think it's just as it was mentioned several times: A period of "nothing", as nearly all people died (the one from the upper world were already "dead"), just like the rest is most probably going to die soon too. And then: Some kind of "revival".
I don't think of, what could happen afterwards. And I'm glad, that I can view it that way. Texhnolyze is definitely one of my favorite anime series ever. And it's also nice to rewatch it. Most animes these days are just some action shounen, and there's almost no series that can be called art.
texhnolyze is the best anime i agree. yeah the ending is sad but what makes me cry everytime for some reason is when the union attack the class, the camera rotates round the city whilst their chant echoes around - its so powerfull.
i cried the 1st time i saw the ending mainly because i knew my only consolation to having watched the last episode of the best anime was ... to watch it again : (
That's a nice thought. But honestly, I don't think those people people believe in an afterlife. "O look down on me. Watch over me as I walk across this world. Teach me how to take my first footsteps... to the end." The song Walking Through the Age[s?] is like a prayer: it asks for courage to face death. Because death is seen as liberation here.
I don't think the question is if there is a life after death, I rather think it's about realizing that soon or later everyone is going to die and that you should see everything in the broader context of the never-ending cycle of life and death. In the end, everything might have been lost, but new life will sprout and all the tragedies that occured in Lukuss and the "upper world" will be forgotten. After all, no one was able to prevent this end, not even Ran with her ability to see the future.
yeah, by far one of the best yet most depressing endings in an anime. One of the only animes to basically tie up all loose ends (even if it does in a very bitter way)
this is the greatest anime series of the last ten years if only for this final moment
"it is the end of the raging world"

@slaughterersrock That was directed at accountnumuno, I already have a pretty good understanding of what happened during Texhnolyze.

why did Ichise have to die... its just not fair... but still it gave texhnolyze probably the best ending to an anime
KyuubiKris 4 years ago 4
ran died, ichise didn't die, he just fell asleep ^^
zwathiroth 3 years ago
he falls asleep after he was shot all those times, he does a good job ^^
KyuubiKris 3 years ago 2
There is no way he would survive this. I don't he think he just "fell asleep", he was going to die there.
