I think I was only in the school for half a year in jk then we had to go to the portables and aftert grade two i moved to the city and left all I ever known. I had to leave my friends and family, my culture and my language. I can barely speak my first language now. If we had that school years ago, then that wouldn't have happened. I am now in high school and lucky to be getting the education I need to become a doctor but I feel guilty to be gett

I totally agree with u i know what you're going through coz i lived in attawaspiskat for the first 8-9 yrs of my life so i was there when the school closed down & had to go to those fuckin' portables for school. I really hope you kids in attawaspiskat get a real school soon.

The Minister of Indian Affairs has to ask himself, would he put off building this school if his children or family were attending! No excuses, get on the ball! Yeah for youtube and this medium. Invested 3 million dollars, how many years and what was it for? The public is not going to be duped anymore.

There is a lot of favourtism where education funds and the priority list goes in our country. Want proof, look around at wealthier neighbourhoods public schools. I see it all the time.

The school in Attawapiskat was contaminated by a spill of diesel fuel some 30 years ago. The parents pulled the kids out of the building 10 years ago, and now the kids are forced to go to portables that have windows and doors that can't be closed or opened because of frost heaving. Email Chuck Strahl and tell him to do his job...a new school and safe learning for the kids of Attawapiskat!

I live in Saskatchewan and seeing something like this made my heart ache for those children having to be punished because the government, that we voted in, is ripping the right to a proper education and a proper learning facility from them. Since the school wasn't decent for me in Attawapiskat my mom and I moved to get a better education. I really hope A new school will open and be built soon. 5 years is a long time for students.

we take our daughter to school everyday, in the cold, in the rain... everyday! now we're thinking of moving so that she's able to get a real education down south, i hear many other parents talking about moving from this hell hole to get real education for their children... the children are human beings! why does the indian affairs treat us like dogs? chuck strahl should come and live here for a month! he would not last a week let alone a day!
