Ill add this as well...If you base your opinions of the world on what TV and the media tell you then you are just forming an opinion that is beat into you. People are the same everywhere you go and so are the politics but sadly most people are brainwashed by the Idiot box to see this
I think the world has been going in cycles (up/downhill) long before the 60s my friend. The 60s had all the hate/prejudices , religious superstitions, lack of respect etc etc.....America attacks other countries like it has always done and puts a pro america spin on it. Thanks for the chuckle though and the song is great too
I bought a Japanese pressing of this album back in about 1984 somewhere in the Village. I really liked this song. It wasn't until about 20 years later that I saw the movie Psych-Out w/Jack Nicholson. What a ridiculously self-indulgent movie. I wasn't born until 1969 and always had an envious nostalgia for the late 60's. Seeing movies like that helped cure me.
@RipARipeBanana It made me realize that while the idealism was wonderful, unfortunately it was still people with all of their frailties that were espousing it. The only difference is that they weren't as jaded. Perhaps it was their failure that led to my cynicism. Pete Townsend talking about the making of Who's Next talks about how his generation had the opportunity to make real change and utterly failed. I could not put it more eloquently.

This song was NOT done by the Strawberry Alarm Clock... It was done by a garage band, The Storybook. Check out the Psych-Out album for the song list. I was tthe lead singer for the Storybook and we did most of the songs for the movie... And we never made a dime from the album... Thank you Dick Clark Productions...
There must be a way to go back to this time when things were warm and fuzzy and custom made to our personal fantasy. Get ready. We'll all go together. Lets go!
This song and many more on the album were performed by the Storybook, a San Fernando Valley garage band. The songs were written by composer Ronald Stein for Dick Clark Productions. I was the lead singer for the group. The band broke up in the late 60's when I went into the military...
Man, I wish I could`ve jumped on that band waggon, now I`m stuck here. I missed the music, I missed the TV shows, I missed the movies, I missed people actually spending time together, heck, I freekin missed The Beatles!
I pity you so much! This was a time of "Make Love Not War"! I guess you couldn't get laid even when they were giving it away! Now we all know which "LEG" is really broken! Maybe I would be decrepit too if I were in your shoes! Let's all pray for a brighter day!
I wonder what compelled the maker of this video to feature Manson's face; more glory to a pathetic myth mainly created by a book which earned loads of fucking cash.
@SandozSaxonWilliams That's a good point, actually. I don't know, I guess I just pinned Manson an image and figure of the pop culture of the late sixties. I also agree completely with "Helter Skelter", the book and ultimately 1976 TV-movie. It was hype at it's peak. I mean, Manson's an entertaining joke now, and has been for years, though it was a whole other story in the sixties when he was in his prime and the murders were fresh. Now it's all this "woah, wasn't that whole thing fucked up?"
Will somebody build a time machine already! I feel so ripped off in the generational lottery. I feel like I missed out on the fuckin parade. Great video and song!
Thanks for the video. I love the pics! I remember hearing this song for the first time in high school after MGM released Psych Out on dvd and have loved it ever since. Makes me wish I could go back in time for a day to experience it in person... it must've really been something magical that many in my generation would loved to have been a part of. A world without love = doom and thats something that has slowly proven true in my short life (I'm in my early 20s).
Although lots of images aren't 40 years old, still a very nice video, one of SAC's best songs, the enchanting sound of the harpsichord is sooo relaxed
Super pretty, enjoy the weir hippie music Pinko's :) lol

Yeah, I can agree with you. His face shouldn´t been there. He has nothing to do with the love feeling and atmosphere of the sixties.

@lookhear49 I already kind of cleared that up with that person. Read it.
