Two very different versions of the same song, REM's is obviously fabulous because...it is...!..but this is pretty lovely too. Not really a question of which is better etc etc but appreciate each singer doing it, well for me anyway. PP does a good job and I like the use of Italian, it's all good. Now if someone comes along and plain murders this great song, then that is a different story..!

OK, I looked it up...the REM song definitely came first... this is apparently the italian version of the same song. The REM video used to make me cry as a kid... especially when the old man is in the car and says, "she's already gone" or "I've already lost her".... I forget which exactly... but it broke my heart every time I saw it.

You are right, the REM version came first. It was originally released on the 1992 album "Automatic for the People" and was also released as a single in 1993.

The Paul Potts version was released on his album titled "One Chance, which was released on July 16th, 2007.
