Everyone scores goals, and glad he can feel like he got a good one on Buffalo - but that princess is still yours to deal with [assuming you're an Atlanta fan]. We're glad to be rid of him, especially if he puts up numbers now... that would only mean he was holding out on purpose to get traded elsewhere (based on his lack of production in his last year at BUF) and who wants a selfish team member such as that? That crap is for football/basketball. Hockey is about the TEAM.

he doesn't suck now people. He had two groin injuries. in the 07-08 season he missed like 35 games, and in the 08-09 season he missed about half the season. When he came back he could have played, but apparently Lindy Ruff just hates him. He is a good player, and he does have a good shot. He did only get 3 goals in the 08-09 season, but that's because ruff benched him for no reason

dog house or not, every game im at, when he touches the puck people seem to move a bit out of their seats. hes always been exiting to watch but i think its because of the amazing goals, people expect them all the time and dont really watch him as a whole. every shift hes out he puts the work in and it sucks to see him in the slump hes in right now

He's in St. Petersburg playing for SKA now anyway - what more proof do you need that he was never an NHL level quality player?

@RWT2777 what are you talking about? he had 3+ seasons with buffalo with over 20 goals and a few others in the high teens and his assists were ALWAYS extremely high, one season he had 51 and some in the 30's and 40's . he always produced when he wasnt hurt. he had 24 goals with atlanta as a 3rd liner. buffalo was not a fit for his style of play. but to say he was not NHL quality is retarded and you sir should be burned at the stake because that is blasphemy

Not only do I actually play but I coach as well and I know first hand there are over 100,000 kids competing EACH YEAR for a spot in the NHL with triple this guys talent. Plenty of people can dangle the puck & dazzle - but you have to FINISH. The only thing you could count on with Max after dazzling was a stupid turn over.

If he's soooo great, where is he now? No NHL team wanted to waste their time with him after Atlanta.

Max: the single most exciting and frustrating Sabre of this millennium. He makes for great highlight reels, but also bonehead reels.  For one reason or another, be it scoring an insane goal or coughing it up for a breakaway for the opposition, you won't miss him when he is on the ice.
