hey, man, cheers up. you think you gave us well what we deserve. but in reality, i still have a tilinkó, a wonderful evening, and the desire to practice. what i fight against, it is about me then. if you fight, you are not in the state of peace. i wish you peace. i like romanians, though i am hun. i travelled across your country, i always found kind people. sit back, and enjoy.
The instrument is found worldwide - there is a version in Norway and one used to be played in the Solomon Islands.
The Csango have preserved it and devloped it more than any other people in Central Europe - of course they have tunes that come from other places (Ukraine, Russia, Austria, Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria) but they do them in their own way.
If there's a living school of Romanian tilinko playing, let's see some links to it.
If somebody steals my wallet and say:"Why can't we just enjoy this beautiful wallet?", my answer is: "I'll take it back then we'll talk." But intellectual theft, like the territorial theft of Transilvania by Huns (under Austrian and German "auspices",) is theft. Theft of a land with majority Romanian population, or its art (music, costumes, etc). Now, if this was credited by the fellow here as:Tilinca, a Romanian instrument and Hora a Romanian dance, it would have been a compliment, not theft.
@Romanisipunctum Now I see... You're from the USA.... You must have many problems there with people, too.. You poor. And You say, that You're romanian, who escaped to the USA. From that distance it's easy to make statements.
Intelelctual theft is just as much a crime as a violent one: similar in intention. You don't see Romanians on You Tube playing czardas and pretending it's "Romanian".We have more common sense and respect for ourselves to give credit to its country of origin, when we play czardas. Hun(garian)s however, keep stealing (plagiarizing) our doinas, horas, sarbas and jocs and pretend these are "Hungarian". You didn't get much farther from pappa Attila the Hun(garian)'s stealing habits! You're Pathetic!
steal what? you SOB, where is 75% of 1000 years old hungarian property? Let me tell you. At Oláhs, at Rác', at Tóts, at Labancs and at Ukrainians. Who stole it? The english and the french. Whom did they gave it? To the lowlife gypsies of Havasalföld. Congrats, gypsy thug. I'm talking about you.
Anyone know where i might be able to find a tutorial on how to play this instrument?

This comment has received too many negative votes show
"Tilinca" is a Romanian musical instrument, as its etymollogy clearly states, NOT Hun(garian).
I guess now that you cannot steal lands anymore, you steal intellectual property.
Attila's kids, what can I say?
Poor Huns...

Dear Romanian fellow, relax! The linguistics specialists couldn t decide, if the tilinko/tilincă is of HUNgarian (csango), or rather Romanian origin.
They say it must came from the Persians (tiling)... happy now?

@Romanisipunctum Hi there, I'm really interested about the comment You've written...
I'm hungarian, too, and I thouth till now, that music is the only thing that doesn't know any borders...
I don't have any problems with Romanian people and the thoughts about Hungarian or Romanian history... Why we cannot simply hear that music??
