@LilyChaps It's actually healthier to walk ball-heel :/. Take off your shoes, and try walking around for a while. You'll notice it's more comfortable to land on the ball of your foot, then transfer the pressure to your heel, then back to your ball as you lift the foot again.

I once had a teacher who told us not to wear high heels because sooner or later it'll harm your back and other parts, however...she herself was never seen with shoes under 5 centimeters :-D.

I noticed--- even when I am walking my regular (which is always way faster than others) pace, I wind up lagging behind them and they all race ahead of me when I am wearing heels. LOL Even wedge shoes, man. :P Thats the only thing I dislike about heels-- practically speaking. I didnt start wearing heels till I was 26. I was surprised by how easy it was--- I started with wedge and moved to large heel. Next up, is the dreaded pencil heel LOL but I will get to it one day....

If you slip, it has to do with weight distribution. Not that there are times you will slip and it is for another reason. Walking correctly is very important. Good idea for the traction though. I have never felt the need to do it, but again, good idea...

helpful, i didn't know about the small steps. I thought I was just bad at walking in heels and had to take small steps while everyone else can walk normally. Now I know that's not the case. I think another good tip to learning to walk in heels is start by learning with heels that have a thick heel so there's support. Then once you have it down go on to the stilettos. Learning with a thin heel like that (stiletto) is a disadvantage IMO
