  • This dude looks and sounds like a dentist or something

  • Avatar the Last Airbender brought me here

  • Hi Kent, many thanks for posting these - I've found them very helpful, along with the book. Do you have a DVD of the full recording? Do you plan to publish anything further? Do you have anything similar on Xing Yi Quan? Thanks again, Neil

  • Thanks for the kind remarks. I am not sure what you mean by the 'earth' position, but in this form the lower hand is kept near the dantian (lower abdomen) with the thumb pointing, more or less, toward the navel. The elbow shouldn't be held too far outward. Hope that helps.

  • Something that I have noticed, that seems to be prevalent in Wang Shujin's forms is the positioning of the rear hand. Keep the hand in the "earth" position sure seems to help stabilize my balance, but I am a big guy.

Thanks so much for these videos! With the book, these videos fill in any possible gap the reader could have, IMO.

Great work, please note that your work and time are greatly appreciated.

  • Thank you this is what I was looking for!

  • I`ve heard that some people can walk around you using circle walking and hit you in your back

  • I don't really know anything about baguazhang. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how I could learn the basics.

  • @ThorWillKill1 i was really hoping to learn from a master one day, but due to my location chances of me meeting a bagua master are very slim so, there's a book called" baguazhang theory and app " its a very thick book and it's the best chances for me to ever learn baguazhang

  • Oh my gosh!!! this is so useful!

  • Although is seems like your just walking around and around it is hard to understand how to trully walk it. I use a cirlce that is 6ft in lenght and i have a wooden dummy in the middle. the key when you first start is not to focus on the middle but make sure your walking it straight. the goal is also to change your stance, walk and direction. Go forward 6 revolutions. go the other direction for 6 and repeat going backwards as well.

  • Love to see your practice routine. Upload a video when you have the time! Thanks

  • mrroboto, we've just started adding ba guan fa and hung gar to our martial arts classes. i was wondering rather than foot movement which is obviously the foundation, if you could shortly touch on proper hand technique that should be used on circle walking. i understand your fingers touching to your elbow on a directional change but how far apart should you fingertips be away from your elbow after resetting and how should your hands be fixed (closed or open fingers, etc.)

  • The best way to look at circle walking is to view it as a kata. Just like in Hung Gars iron thread. It is desined to get you to react quickly in a circular fashion when you are in a fight. Also baqua zhang is the real bushido. While cirlce walking is done to get you to perform in a circular fashion. it is also ment to be a meditation and work on internal energy. But the cirlcle walking lets you see how geometry and physics are being applied through the circle.

  • i've took classes and it was fun when you practice with someone for self-defense just got to focus what you do don't get distracted and don't hold back unless its practice

  • Bagua is a awesome martial art

but isn't it a bit unhandy cuz maybe u will confuse urself by walking circels and circels?

    Just a question ;)

    good movie

  • its like all internal martial arts. you have to practise for years before it becomes practical in a selfdefense situation. but once you have got the skills, they stay with you for life, and you can defend against almost anything

  • if you wanna see a good bagua performance watch jet li's "the one", the final fight is amazing. not only does bagua use an amazing balance of chi but it manipulates its opponents at the same time.. imagine trying to fight a ghost. i say that because most of the attacks and strikes are hidden. check out that fight franz and you'll be impressed yo

  • I'm in Portland Oregon Chinatown if anyone wants to get together to play some Baguazhang wang shu-jin style.

Contact me through my youtube account.

  • I'm loving this series. Will there be more videos in the future, more palm changes from Wang Shujin's baguazhang?

  • Hi Baguaman, Do the details of the mud step vary by lineage?

  • Mud stepping can represent several different steps depending on the style. Wang's was more of a heel-to-toe but tending toward stepping foreward with the flatter foot profile.

  • awesome!

  • GREAT series! Fantastic explanations.

  • Very nice....thank you.

  • Thank you.

  • I've been studying martial arts for seven years now and I'd love to study Bagua Zhang. Does anyone know any Bagua schools near Portland Oregon?

  • This is awesome ... and I simply LOVE IT!!!

"WE" must always remember that simplicity is the source of all things.

  • wow thanks
