Man, this is what trips me out about some people! I mean, what is the problem if someone gets married to someone outside of their race?! Your Great Grandparents were not slaves they were brought over as indentured labourers... and were given land parcels as pay and some small pay for their work times were hard and was rough..Slaves were forced out of their home land like the Africans, the Indians were given a choice at the ports in Calcutta and Madras to leave to make a new life and was given the choice to return to India, I'm sure they would be so proud to see their hard work paid off from the accomplishments of their lineage
@maharaja4u2c I would add to reply. Before Africans left Africa they were not slaves. They lived as normal people in their villages. They were made slaves after their own people deceived and conned them and turned them over to the White man who in turn stole them and brought them out of Africa and made them slaves. That is one of the reasons why some Africans think that they are superior to the people who are descendents of the African race and were born in the Caribbean and America.

In liberia it is the other way round, the freed african slaves that went back to liberia enslaved the native liberians and looked down upon them since they were natives.

My grandmother is indian which means I have it coursing through my veins. So I guess I am not indian at all because I do not come from india or am not 100%, correct?! If you agree to that statement then you do a disservice to your own people by hatin' on other indians just because they aren't born in the motherland! Go to trinidad or guyana and tell them that during Diwali and see if ya walkin off wit bol'face nah! I HIGHLY doubt it, we appreciate our heritage and our ancestors.

Your Great Grandparents were not slaves they were brought over as indentured labourers... and were given land parcels as pay and some small pay for their work times were hard and was rough..Slaves were forced out of their home land like the Africans, the Indians were given a choice at the ports in Calcutta and Madras to leave to make a new life and was given the choice to return to India, I'm sure they would be so proud to see their hard work paid off from the accomplishments of their lineage

@maharaja4u2c I would add to reply. Before Africans left Africa they were not slaves. They lived as normal people in their villages. They were made slaves after their own people deceived and conned them and turned them over to the White man who in turn stole them and brought them out of Africa and made them slaves. That is one of the reasons why some Africans think that they are superior to the people who are descendents of the African race and were born in the Caribbean and America.

@islandgirl3330 LOL slavery existed in africa before the europeans came there. Infact even today in africa diff tribes hate each other and continually engage in violence against each other. In liberia it is the other way round, the freed african slaves that went back to liberia enslaved the native liberians and looked down upon them since they were natives.
