She followed it up 5 years later, with 'Patti LaBelle's Lite Cuisine', and 4 years after that, 'Recipes for the Good Life'.

I DO put half and half in mashed potatoes, but with mac and cheese, it's totally unneccesary, the cheese and butter provide plenty of richness... this recipe ist grease upon grease upon grease.

My favorite mac and cheese is just fixed on the stove top with sharp cheddar cheese, a bit of sour cream and garlic powder. I did make Patti's version and take it to a covered dish at church. Folks polished it off.

I made her regular macaroni and cheese recipe - it was delicious!! I have made this one before and its RICH. I prefer her regular. The 2 sticks of butter in this recipe make it super rich (too rich in my opinion). Her cook book is fantastic
