My son has speech delay, I took him to early intervention autism screening and they told my nothing is jumping out at them to suggest he is autistic. He is doing better at copying speech now, but is still far behind at 4 years old. My question is, do people always recover and catch up by adulthood?

I was speech delayed and boy was my mother was worried. :-)

THANK YOU.. I am sooo annoyed by the desire to jump on children who are either late talkers, motor speech issues, speech delay etc..
