This is the first time I've seen these scenes since they originally aired, and it just makes me angry at those "Santa Barbara" writers all over again. I never did forgive them for taking my all-time favorite screen couple and turning their storyline into this horrible trick against the audience.
On top of that, Lane Davies' acting was almost too good in this period. His performance was so realistic and heartfelt, it was agony to watch.
I can't watch this or the dying scene without crying, not even now... It's heartbreaking to see Mason tormented by such pain and guilt when he should have tasted more of the true love he found with Mary. It's so unfair he wasn't allowed that ... "Do you think she knew how much... how much I loved her?"
Absolutely excruciating! I would say his love for her showed even more in the way he looked at her and the way he touched her, so she definitely felt it, which is worth a thousand words...
Excellent scene! This scene is merely one little taste of the greatness that was Santa Barbara. There has never been a show that can compare to this one. The writing and acting on this show was far superior to any other- daytime or nighttime! Lane Davies is an outstanding actor, as is A Martinez, Marcy Walker, Jed Allen(he was born to play C.C.)& Nancy Grahn . Just about every actor on that show was amazing. I miss that show still. No other soap can compare to S.B. during its heyday.
When Eden says "Oh, it's so unfair" to Cruz, it just breaks my heart and then the rest of the clip just shatters it to pieces. Julia & Mason were my favorite couple, but Mason loved Mary very much and the acting in these scenes is just amazing.

I was gonna comment on the cheap sets, but in the last couple scenes, I listened to the background music; it was hypnotic! Just beautiful.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
The one thing I hated most about this show was how cheap the sets were, whenever anybody spoke, you could always hear a loud echo sound.
