All of his friends and family are scientologists. Even if he would get out of it, he'd lose all of them because of the shunning policy.

I don't feel his religion gets in the way of the music he produces. Neither does that Alan Sparhawk or Sufjan Stevens. Gottlob Frege was a nazi, but predicate logic still amazes me.
