To make Optimus Technology work, download all the drivers and the associated software. Go to NVIDIA Control Panel and click "Manage 3D Settings". There will be two tabs. "Global Settings" & "Program Settings". You can specify which graphics card to use.

They forgot to include in the video how one is stopped from playing tons of games by this BS tech and people that game online get kicked because of multiple directx hooks. Screw optimus, give us manual switching back.

@beko851 HI MAN! the only solution is download the latest drivers direct from nvidia website, it fix almost all the bugs. i tryed that and no i can play all games.

with the optimus , there is a problem, games do use the discrete nvidia gpu, but not it's dedicated vram, witch sucks.

I don't mind switching the graphics, I am going to get the envy 14, so i will have to live with switchable lol. Optimus seems really good though, everything is automated.

@brendrt451 has it been confirmed it has switchable graphics? the envy 15 2nd gen had core i5 with integrated gpu but no option to switch between discreet and integrated gpu's

i'll look into the envy 14 now n maybe even the 17 depending on battery life and how smooth the gpu switch is

this isnt a big advancement the only difference here is that switching is faster thats all

If you do, all the power to you. But the majority of people don't. The fact that the end user, which might be a kid or grandma or something who doesnt' know whats going on, will just think it's one hell of a laptop.
