Can anyone point me towards anywhere in the New Testament where dance is used in worship? If you are going to use the Old Testament for worship practices you might as well burn incense, sacrifice animals and keep the sabbath.
do we need to dance or to carry out His word in our hearts?..... Seems like people forgetting of purification that needed every day. No crucifixion of your own flesh, you will die. certainly... ......
@Peace7Maker you know what I mean. I do not agree that it is worship, it is the way to show off and boil blood.
There is no God in it, at all. Being calling His name or do it "in His name" is not the right way to justify your corrupted thoughts. Return to Bible, return to fear of God, and you will forget about dancing, clapping, screaming, jumping, rolling, laughter, barking, roaring, etc.etc. God is not in need of worshiping Him with flesh in first place, but with heart in first place.
@montanelly5 You said "return to Bible," so let's!
Psalm 149:3 - Let them praise his name in the dance
Psalm 150:4 - Praise Him with timbrel and dancing
Ecclesiastes 3: 1-4 There is a time for everything....a time to mourn and a time to dance
Jeremiah 31:4 - You shall go forth in the dances of those who rejoice.
I can go on and on...
Before you call this form of praise "corrupt," read what God Himself has to say about it. Yes, worship begins in the heart first, but he wants us to show it!
@montanelly5 Well, what do you think we're going to be doing in heaven? We're going to be worshipping him! why wouldnt you want to praise the God that Loves and cares for you? The God that saved you! if someone saved you from burning to death on earth would you not jump up and down and act like what the world would call a "goofball" in thanksgiving to that person? Jesus is a God to be loved and adored in every way for all that he has done!
@montanelly5 His greatest commandment is Love, is worshipping not one of the highest ways to show Love? especially unto God? Those that worshiped got were exalted in the bible. Many times God told the people to worship in dance and in song.
I think a major war is between the minds of believers. Denominations set us apart, which they shouldnt. Basically man's own thoughts and "2 cents" divide brothers and sister. Whats wrong with wanting to seek and Love God in our fullest? Worship is not just singing or dancing, its our sacrifice and attention of our heart towards God.
Look at all the cups and paper laying on the table in front of the supposed pulpit of supposed church .... how disrespectful ....probaby the same table used to give communion .... how do ppl think the Lord really ooks at this stuff .... Christianiy is going to heathenism in modern churces where they war dance for the glory of God & call it praise & worship ,when it's blind heathenism or pagan .... King David's way of dancing and this stuff is intirely different .
@AMRiYcad It is written -- Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted him in Massah - Deuteronomy 6:16 so I know what is written , why shall I tempt the Lord???
@misipi6guns45 those bottle are in fact on the stage not on a table... at the place that the speaker must speak, i cant see why it is disrespectful to give water to someone who speak...
The only difference between this and David way, is that David had no technique... And technique become necessary pass a certain point where you become unable to put into move what God put on your heart (the body cant keep up or you cant find any moves anymore...)
how blind...... God does not in need of worshiping with flesh, but with spirit. In my opinion it is something that people who have lost power of Spirit trying to substitute with, covering this all with passages from Old Testament, that show David dancing. And why people watching this live clapping? to whom glory is going to? to God? well, God did not dance, lady did. so think about it.
@montanelly5 You must worship with your whole being... that is the first commandment...When you worship in spirit, your soul and your body align with it...
What's wrong with clapping for this, when you certainly clap watching a sport game... Anyway, God take pleasure in his children succeeding. And from the clapper point of view, you are certainly able to do 2 things : clap to tell the worshiper that he did great and the same time glorify God for the ministry He did trough the dance to you.
I'm sorry so many that call themselves Christians are not very creative or free in their thinking. God is creative and powerful, and not afraid, and full of LOVE and MERCY and JOY. Blessings to his children.
Whenever you pray you prophesy, because when you pray, it is the Spirit praying through you. She is praying with her whole body, praise Jesus!!!
One more note--let's not get distracted by the terminology that snowballsgalore used to title this video, and instead just praise Jesus for creating us with the ability to dance, paint, draw, write, read, run, laugh, etc... worship is more than singing and clapping. It's a dialog with our Father and an expression of our adoration to him. That can look quite different from person to person... which, I think, God quite enjoys. :D
@fishermanofsheep Great comment! Totally agree. Freedom to worship and express ourselves to God out of love for Him. Whatever way that may be, out of a pure heart.
@GodsDaughter2222 were is purity? and why it is "prophetic dance", not just dance? it sounds better, is it not? or, it makes it looks like some godly stuff, or so.
Show me chirch of new testament doing so. Nowhere in Bible noone did so after death of Christ, that was turning point from Law to Grace.
The New Testament isn't clear how people worshipped, all Jesus said was the Father is looking for people who worship him 'in spirit and in truth.' There's no one dominant worship style in the Kingdom of God, just a heart that connects with God and if it's through dance, then why not? God gave some the ability to dance, so why not worship Him with everything we are..
1 Cor. 14:3 - prophesy is edification and exhortation and consolation." In American English, we often think of the word "prophesy" specifically as revealing the future. But, the Bible does not hold that narrow a definition of the word. In general sense, all it really refers to is communicating Gods thoughts to another. This can pertain to the future, but doesn't have to
Prophecy can also be: A calling out Gods purposes. God loves you. A revelation about his nature. etc. If God shares his heart to others through you, you are prophesying. How does this relate to dance, like in this video? In short, is it possible to communicate through music? Through a painting? Through any creative expression? Language is great for communicating some things, and crummy for others
That's where art was born--the need to express something that words cannot encapsulate. If this is the case, do you think that we can thoroughly express the "edification and exhortation and consolation" of an omniscient God through words alone? Of course not! So, God blesses us with particular gifts in unspoken expression, so we can all receive a fuller picture of who he is, and who we are
Not prophetic. Prophecy is clear, verbal instruction from the Lord - not open to many interpretations as others have intimated. This is nice and whatnot, I guess could have value to someone in assisting worship . . . I guess. But it's not prophecy - at least not in the Biblical sense.
@ejordan74 dance is just as expressive as words... when you watch a prophetic dance, you let God speak to you on the inside... this way God can give a direct word to each individual in the room instead of a generalization for all.
She's a great dancer. However, as a worship dancer, I don't see how this is prophetic, maybe interpretive, but what is she interpreting? The moves don't appear to be saying anything, as they're typical of that of a secular ballerina. It looks more like a ballet recital.
@seanpaynedotnet Interesting that you limited it to the New Testament. The Alpha and Omega is the same now as he was in the NT times, as well as throughout the OT... where, incidentally, he inspired a famous Psalmist to write: "Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with tambourine and harp."
@infowarsdotcom1 the Bible says let him praise His name with the timbrel and dance...Psalm 150. So... on the day that YOU descend into the earth and ascend into heaven, you will then have the right to say how someone can praise the Lord. and that will never happen.
I don't believe it is prophetic. A walked out prayer, yes. But if prayer and prophecy were synonymous they would be one term. Those referred to as prophets biblically were those that foretold what was to come. For example, the prophet Isaiah foretold the coming of Christ and the events that took place in the life of Christ. He was prophesying about Christ. I don't believe this dance, though BEAUTIFUL is prophetic.
Perfromed great and there is nothing wrong with this. But it is a reach to call it "prophetic" I don't agree with the term and it is not Biblical to call it a use of prophecy. That to me would be a heresy. To say it is an expression of worship is fine. To use it in church is fine. But don't call it prophetic. That is too much of a reach.
to the jason guy uhm its prophetic bc every move she makes is like a walked out prayer, and it might not make sense to you but this dance can mean something different to every person in that room.. its how you interpret it
Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
