Glenn Danzig is the Misfits, he wrote all the songs and it's his voice and singing style that made the name Misfits Legendary. The only reason why his current band is called Danzig, and not Misfits or Samhain is because he doesn't ex band-mates trying to live off of his name like Jerry Only is doing--they won't be able to perform under the name Danzig since that's his legal name.
