@clintonearlwalker I understand how it works, but the fact is, it is still not legal to share music ( although it is done all the time as well as movies unless caught in the act and actually prosecuted ).
I would rather avoid any torrent programs or peer to peer and use other means

@fuwmg Actually, the "legality" of utorrent and similar programs depends on your location. If you are in Botswana or Kathmandu there are no laws against torrent programs, probably the same in Russia and China. There are millions of people using torrent programs 24 hours a day all over the world, I know that for a fact.
Anyway, if you wist to avoid torrents, get RealPlayer, it lets you download nearly any net flash video. Then find vids like this one and save them on your hard drive.

the funny thing is that if it were not for the music industry special interest groups, the overbearing music industry themselves. and if a new artist is any good with a decent fanbase they could make a decent income just by posting their music/video's here on youtube.

Prince is and always will be one of the most talented artists of our time. I think that he thinks having his music on youtube is stolen intellectual property and takes a lot of pride into his works. Yes I do agree that without things like this he loses possible fans, however how he lives his life is his "experience". :)

Prince only hurts himself by denying YouTube play of this best hits because people are just going to forget about him. No one is going to buy his old songs when it is all too easy to get pirate copies. What YouTube play will do for him is keep his music popular and more people will buy tickets to his concerts. Had he denied radio & MTV airplay of his songs in the 1980s no one would have ever heard of him. Prince could be huge again by simply letting YouTube play his stuff.
