Although I love Shawn I don't think anyone deserved it MORE than Nastia. I feel she had more passion and determination then anyone else. :) I couldn't have been happier for her.
I would also suggest the battle between the two americans and the amazing yang yilin, there was never a tough chinese in a competition, it was always a romanian. but this time yang really challenged them
@morenodelaorilla Well there was Mo Huilan in 96..she was the Chinese version of Dawes (inconsistent in AA), but she was def in the thick of the AA in 95 AND 96
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 - That Mo was the Chinese version of Dawes in that while both were capable of winning any AA they entered..they were relentlessly inconsistent during AA comps..
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 - Ok kid..I'm gonna stop here because you continue to miss the point while repeatedly emphasizing your opinion that Mo was better. Your opinion is irrelevant to the point I was making in the statement that Mo was the Chinese version of the super talented gymnast who can't keep the mental side together during AA comps. The American version was Dawes. I was never once comparing their gymnastics styles/abilities/etc. Please don't respond again. Thanks.
@dmann3g Ok kid, yes, they were both headcases and inconsistent, but Mo was much better than Dawes. It really is not an opinion. Mo had much more difficulty and much better form. If both hit, Mo would win. I was never once comparing their gymnastics styles/abilities/et cetera. Please don't respond again. Thanks.
@ShawnVikaKomova2012 - Pls go back to my 1st comment where I clearly stated that the comparison was about being AA headcases..let it go..I personally love Mo and Dawes equally..but ur free to feel differently..and also free to continue arguing something that wasn't even an argument, but a statement about AA headcases..have fun
@dmann3g I saw that your original comment said they were headcases. But you also said that Huilan was the Chinese Dominique. Mo was much better. Have a nice night.
It was interesting, sure. But, we all knew one of those two would win because Nastia is a codewhore and the new code was perfect for Shawn's style of gymnastics.
There were MUCH better Olympic AAs, especially under the old code where everyone had to be PERFECT on every event just to challenge for the top.
Luckily 2012's AA should be much better than Beijing. We have MANY amazing Russians, Romanians, Chinese and Americans to watch.

@mu6iscool Hell no. Shushunova vs. Silivas and Gutsu vs. Miller were much more exciting.

@dmann3g Mo was not the Chinese version of Dawes. Mo was a definate gold contender in 1996. Dawes was not. They were both headcases at points.
