it would be really great if these two superpowers got along better. the cold war is and has been over for a long time now. if these two countries were to get along better, there could be some amazing accomplishments in the world.
U.S and Russia will never be friends, since each side follows its own interests in the world politics and military influence arena. Good friends appear when you put them in difficult and complicated situation, just as it happened with U.S.S.R. and the U.S; since Americans were afraid of Soviet Nuclear Arsenal, they could do nothing else but to resolve the situation with talks and become "friends" with Soviet Union.
