this solo is great on so many levels...like the way he mimics doobie's "kevin let me hear you play"...the leslie is used to perfection throughout to accent those tasteful movements...he never strays too far from his central theme...he just builds and explores different grooves...even the impromtu drop has a small bit of the theme...kevin powell delivers a classic.

this kid Kevin blew me away...The lick he does at about 1:03 is pure gold. I've been playing keys for years and i'm amazed at how far the young cats are stretching this thing. That's a dude who just loves to play right there...truly anointed lol
We break this cycle NOT by looking for the gift but by MOVING what stops the gift. There is nothing we can do to bring the gift or get the gift because it was given and thats why we were born out of a million possibilities.
what stops the gift? Lazy causes procrastination the sooner we change our attitude from i cant to i can do all this through christ...we then stop calling God a lie because He made us and He confirmed, thats GOOD.
This guys is doing jazz chords like 13ths 9ths etc which is what we all play but useing half steps differents timings while changing keys back and forth because he knows them and not afraid. I love his percussive feel on the organ. THE MIND IS LAZY and it loves to relax.
When we break that cycle there is nothing we cant accomplish through God.
He mastered what he does and everyone should learn this way. When we began to stop being lazy and learn every key and stopped worrying about trying and doing it. In 6 months youll almost better than him but guess what, he will love you for it because he will grow with you. Those that get this concept wont get cought on the hype of what Im to lazy of trying to aquire.
I know, right..."hater-ade" is best served cold...as Christians we shouldn't speak negatively when someone is expressing their gift..just give props or nothing at all...excellence is not about being THE best, it's about doing YOUR best & GOD being both pleased AND glorified...no disrespect is a very WEAK disclaimer...kinda like saying...you ugly, but GOD made everybody beautiful in their own way...am I wrong?

I know, right..."hater-ade" is best served cold...as Christians we shouldn't speak negatively when someone is expressing their gift..just give props or nothing at all...excellence is not about being THE best, it's about doing YOUR best & GOD being both pleased AND glorified...no disrespect is a very WEAK disclaimer...kinda like saying...you ugly, but GOD made everybody beautiful in their own way...am I wrong?
