there are many facts why GTA4 is not as we expected. It was their first sandbox on RAGE engine. Because of 9/11 all planes were cut(androrama,fighter,...). So here is reason why gta4 was not ass ''sandboxy'' as GTA san andreas
GTA 4 was possibly the best GTA, the realism is just extraordinary. Saints Row is badass because of all the awesome weapons and gadgets and such. Let it go, both games have their ups and downs.

I hate how fanboys just put down games without even realizing how much time rock star put in gta IV. Sure it wasn't as wacky as San andreas or saints row but it was a fucking awesome experience. The physics,peds,tv/radio stations interiors,textures,internet and characters had a lot of time put in them. Rockstar makes some of the best sandbox games. This game was just made in just 2008 I'm really looking forward to the improvements and features gta 5 will have.

(PART I)It's all about Realism(Graphics), Variety(Gameplay), Characters and Story. In terms of Realism...GTA has that one hands down. The driving, the hand to hand counters, the gritty and lifelike city! It wins! And plus the commercials and tv shows are so dysfunctional but lifelike that it's hilarious!!!! But in terms of Variety, Saints Row beats GTA right back. The customization is INSANE...and awesome! Though arcade-like and slightly corny, it's still fun to play!...

Perfection cannot not be achieved by both simultaneously. One must higher than the other. If you like the Realism...go with the GTA IV characters, they have more backstory in the mix. You get a slight or general idea where those characters have been in the past. In SR2, you find these dudes of the-

And plus the Protagonist and Johnny Gat seem a bit overpowered and near godlike. But Variety puts a whole new spin on things...go with the SR2 if you favor that. You can change EVERYTHING about the main character and much about the gang he/she runs. And Gat can be both funny and awesome at times as well...
@ryumancer (PART IV) Story would almost be torn the same way as the Characters. However, Story is more about depth than Realism and Variety, but those two help spice things up. The deeper the Story, the longer the bulk of an adventure game is. GTA IV has a slight advantage because of having more missions in its Story and without the DLC on either game (86 to 55). If you count the score in this review...GTA has won 2.5 and SR2 has won 1.5. The characters was split. So...GTA wins slimly.
@ryumancer And by the way...I like them equally. I wasn't biased either way. If you went by a system example like I put on, GTA just looks better. And when I was counting the SR2 missions, I was also counting the Strongholds. To repeat, there was 4 subjects. GTA IV won 2.5 out of 4 while SR2 got 1.5 out of 4. They are not ratings, they are comparisons.

Both are awesome! Gta 4 focuses more on realism, which in many cases is fun. Plus gta 4 has a kick ass story, and episodes from liberty city version. saints row 2 has alot of fun features (customization, vehicles, stunguns :p). gta has way better graphics, better online, saints row 2 has more to do, like san andreas, and yeah, but i say saints row 2 is better :p
I love both mainly because GTA centers around the story, but in saints row it feels as if they looked at all the GTA games from 1 to Vice city stories and said "while GTA stays on the realistic side, we will go back to what it was just pure mayhem and fun" and they added ability to play the story or not and still have everything unlocked which is what makes it such a unique game it may be the same GENRE as GTA but its not GTA.

Perfection cannot not be achieved by both simultaneously. One must higher than the other. If you like the Realism...go with the GTA IV characters, they have more backstory in the mix. @ryumancer (PART III) street...OFF the street (misspell in the last reply). You don't know where they've been before they met your character. And plus the Protagonist and Johnny Gat seem a bit overpowered and near godlike. But Variety puts a whole new spin on things...go with the SR2 if you favor that. You can change EVERYTHING about the main character and much about the gang he/she runs. And Gat can be both funny and awesome at times as well...

@ryumancer (PART IV) Story would almost be torn the same way as the Characters. However, Story is more about depth than Realism and Variety, but those two help spice things up. The deeper the Story, the longer the bulk of an adventure game is. GTA IV has a slight advantage because of having more missions in its Story and without the DLC on either game (86 to 55). If you count the score in this review...GTA has won 2.5 and SR2 has won 1.5. The characters was split. So...GTA wins slimly.

@ryumancer And by the way...I like them equally. I wasn't biased either way. If you went by a system example like I put on, GTA just looks better. And when I was counting the SR2 missions, I was also counting the Strongholds. To repeat, there was 4 subjects. GTA IV won 2.5 out of 4 while SR2 got 1.5 out of 4. They are not ratings, they are comparisons.

To be truthful graphics doesn't mean shit in a game, every one jumps a game because of its graphics but the games not good untill you get into the gameplay and story, in my opinion I found GTA4 fun but the online was horrible due to modders on free mode and in he game modes its self. SR2 was a great game due to the fact of Co-Op and you could do more shit then you can ever do on GTA4, I bet theres modders on SR2 multiplayer, but the fact that the Co-Op was great it wins. SR3 will beat GTA5 IMO.

Both are awesome! Gta 4 focuses more on realism, which in many cases is fun. Plus gta 4 has a kick ass story, and episodes from liberty city version. saints row 2 has alot of fun features (customization, vehicles, stunguns :p). gta has way better graphics, better online, saints row 2 has more to do, like san andreas, and yeah, but i say saints row 2 is better :p

I love both mainly because GTA centers around the story, but in saints row it feels as if they looked at all the GTA games from 1 to Vice city stories and said "while GTA stays on the realistic side, we will go back to what it was just pure mayhem and fun" and they added ability to play the story or not and still have everything unlocked which is what makes it such a unique game it may be the same GENRE as GTA but its not GTA.

GTA 4 came out before saints row dumbass. Saints Row copied GTA. Look at the Phoenix on Saints Row 2, then look at the one on GTA San Andreas, pretty obvious that Saint Row copied.
