a lot of guys think this way (like: there are no good bassists or: bassists may not be good or do solos), that's why I got a little angry, but I just misunderstood you

no it isnt its like most great bass's the front has the p pickups and the back is an old seventies style cover over a jazz input, its a jazz bass for sure he's just altered it. You should check out victor wooten's bass its very similar and then check out marcus miller's fender jazz to see what i mean about the classic covers
It's a P-Bass, with a Jazz-Style Plate close to the bridge, where there it is -NOT- covering a Jazz Input, because there is no such thing on a P-Bass model. Also, you contradicted yourself, by saying it has P-Pickups; if it has P-Pickups, its a Precision Bass.
*Note that the Pick Guard does not match that of the shape and style of the Fender Jazz Bass model, but of a P-Bass model, because, once again, it's -NOT- a Jazz Bass.
you people just don't understand..the title of the video is Jazz bass jam...it doesn't refear to the kind of bass guitar he is playing..but the style that he is playing and that's jazz..
I didn't see anything wrong with his technique, I just didn't like it. Maybe it's just not my style but I didn't like his melodies, too much blues in there as well.
he is just not very talented and he is a bit lucky to be there because there is a lot more talented bass player that don't have his chance (sorry for the spelling im french canadian)
i love this dudes playing, we got too many people criticizing and wanting high end stuff all the time from bass players. its ridiculous, they forget how nice it is to be melodic using the low-end only without any tappin, slappin, and high c strings! kudos to this dude for laying it down!
and damn i love the pbass with flatwounds! groovin!
yeah... show ur video where u can show what "your left hand and right hand are definetly not simular in the fast parts. that's why it sounds 'sloppy'" means, so thati can learn more from YOU... thanks a lot -
This guy´s good. If you listening to other good jazz players search for Roberto Aymes (he´s a jazz bass virtuoso). He´s played and/or recorded with Chick Corea, Michel Camilo, Dizzy Gillespie, Danilo Pérez, Chet Baker, Carla White, etc.
What Fender bass are you using? is it a Jazz or a P-bass? It sounds great! I know those are some quality flat wounds? La Bellas?? What amp are you using? Great sound! I use to play. I had a Fender P-Elite which I sold but I've still got my first ax a 67 hofner.
His tone is shit....and is voicings on the chords are not clean at all...stop sliding the whole time....fret buzz on like every note. This dude sucks

bandarna 2 years ago
Jeez, this cat grooves like a robot
and by that I mean no emotion.
I really don't like the tone, honestly.
His slides really turn me off to the sound.
Not that I don't enjoy sliding, just on this bass
it sounds terrible to me.
I dunno, maybe it's just me.
But I give it a thumbs down.
Got skill, but no "groooooove." You know?

Turn down the tone...those flatwounds sound like crunchy diapers on the frets with that much...
it's an awkward sound (I think so)
