As someone who's mic'd a drum kit before I can tell you it takes a lot more than just a decent mixer. Whoever EQ'd it did a damn good job, and had some decent mic's.

You can spend days EQing a drum kit and still find ways to improve it.

@djronzi eh... I doubt it. You can do things like buy expensive heads (evans has some good ones) and snare wires or muffling, but there's really nothing like a good drum. I tried to make a snare I had sound better, but even after tweaking it, it didn't sound as good as a much better drum (untuned).

I'm wondering if theses solos are played with click or without. What's the usual way? Because I recognize, that im out of beat just after a few measures (not 1 complete count, but a little bit slower or faster than the initial beat :((), when I'm playing completly without click..
