pretty sure there isnt a signer in the world who can sound as good live as they do when they record a song. after all, why do artists pay so much money to record a cd at a studio? why not just sit at home with a mic and record your songs? so even the best singer in the world (not saying she is just to clarify) would sound worse live. and this is probably her worst live performance, there are some others where she is pretty brilliant and sounds 99% like her recorded songs.
@anssersadiq There's a lot of production involved in recording music. Some artist actually do record from at home. lol But not everyone has a home studio or a schedule that suits one. It's easier to just arrange to walk into a recording studio near wherever you are then to lug all that equipment.
A lot of artist do sound just as good live. The difference is, when you're actually PERFORMING, meaning dancing and whatnot, it's a lot more difficult to sing than just standing/sitting still.
Taylor is amazing!!!! Awesome performance of an awesome song! And she deserved the award 100% because she puts 100% into every song she writes and performs. People in general do not get better than her. All 3 of her albums are her diaries, not just Fearless, and the fact that she shares them with the world is a beautiful fact in and of itself. The fact that she has millions of fans and is LOVED by every single one of them just goes to show how wonderful she and her songs truly are. :) :) :)

I hate, that people are hating on her when they see this. If you're performing and it's going wrong, or you know that you missed a note or something like that, you hate yourself. yet you have to go on, performing for the people in the crowd. You don't need more people to make comments about you after that, you know you did something wrong allready.
@malu1995 I agree. It seems like she probably didn't have the chance to warm up properly before this performance. You can tell when you watch her face closely that she knows she's getting somethings wrong. Being a performer myself I think that she covered extremely well. She probably hit her head against a wall a few times after this, but hell, this is still pretty good considering.

Stop saying she's out of tune! She doesn't have the worlds greatest voice, that's true, but she has an incredible story and she's passionate about music and songwriting. Some of her performances are better than others, but she's improved. Her songs are relatable and sweet, and that's all that matters. If she hits some flat notes, so be it.

Guys, stop saying Taylor Swift can't sing. She may not have the strongest vocals in the world, but she CAN sing and do it pretty darn good. I hate, that people are hating on her when they see this. If you're performing and it's going wrong, or you know that you missed a note or something like that, you hate yourself. yet you have to go on, performing for the people in the crowd. You don't need more people to make comments about you after that, you know you did something wrong allready.

@malu1995 I agree. It seems like she probably didn't have the chance to warm up properly before this performance. You can tell when you watch her face closely that she knows she's getting somethings wrong. Being a performer myself I think that she covered extremely well. She probably hit her head against a wall a few times after this, but hell, this is still pretty good considering.

I really hate people who say that T.S. is horrible and this other shitty stuff.... I love her and I know that this performance wasn't her best, well, do you know, how hard it is, when you sing and plus doing this crazy stuff like jumping around? it is really hard...

Stop saying she's out of tune! She doesn't have the worlds greatest voice, that's true, but she has an incredible story and she's passionate about music and songwriting. Some of her performances are better than others, but she's improved. Her songs are relatable and sweet, and that's all that matters. If she hits some flat notes, so be it.

this is so out of tune!!! how do u win entertainer of the year when u cant even carry a note??? i think people really need to step back out of there fantasy lives and realize that she really is not that great of a singer. I absolutely LOVE her! Taylor is such an inspiration to me, because she's true to herself. She's my role model and I can't thank her and her music enough for always helping me when I feel sad.
This performance is amazing! You can see that she feels comfortable on stage and it's just her showing her emotions like that.

I like her hair better straight but with large locks near the tip xP with regards to her singing...she is below mediocre....but that would be applicable in this performance only...I know she sounds better frequently...? ok but I heard her sing satisfactorily in one of her live performances :) and she does write and compose songs which are very catchy, meaningful, and beautiful which are deserving to be in the billboards :)

Okay are you all like retarded? Can you not hear how off pitch/key she is every single time she performs live? She is terrible live. Maybe half the population is tone deaf too so they just don't notice it, that would explain a lot. But honestly I've been vocally trained for 10 years and every single live song she sings is off. i went to both her concerts and i think during her first tour she was just nervous and so her vocals werent as amazing as they could have been, but during her second concert she completely owned it she was incredibly vocally, with her performance, everything!

Being able to go crazy and dance around on stage doesn't make up for the fact that she is a horrible live singer.
It doesn't matter if she is nice, pretty, good a writing songs about love, or even a good stage entertainer,
the point of being a singer is that you can SING! Just a good as you were on the CD recording as you are live.
There are a shit ton of people out there better then her at singing that get no recognition.

@omnipotato98 I can. Music that actually takes skill to perform, is written solidly, and isn't constantly off key and dissonant (I.E, her awful singing.) There are some singers that song sing impeccably and it works for them (Jack White, for instance), but they don't try to cover their bad voice by fixing it in recordings. This how she actually sounds. Her recordings are false representations of her lack of good singing skills.

Guys, stop saying Taylor Swift can't sing. She may not have the strongest vocals in the world, but she CAN sing and do it pretty darn good. She may not have every note in tune, but she can HIT THEM ALL. This is a girl who had a dream and she worked hard to get there and she got it. She remains humble, and her music may change, but she will always be the same. This is what God's path for her is and if any of you have a problem with that, I'd like to see you try talking to the God about it!!
