you lucky bastard-i hate you!!---hee hee .promise me youll never, ever sell these or never ever play them! youre too young to know this now but in 20yrs from now[which will come and go in the blink of an eye]these records will be worth an absolute fortune and it would be a crying shame if these vinyls got scratched or developed someone cooking a steak in the backround sound effects in the meantime;i hope its insured.
You look a little young to have a record collection, I said to myself, but later you explain that it was your father's which makes more sense. He had good taste in music, I remember a lot of those albums you have. I still have my LP record collection, but I played the heck out of them, over and over. I plan to give my record collection to my son too. Does the Sgt Peppers album have the cut out stuff that was included with the album?
Nice Collection. Don't listen to what anyone says negatively about your collection. All records are valuable and collectible to someone, I don't care what type of music or category it is. I collect and sell records and on any given day I'll sell a Pink Floyd record and a George Jones record and a Jim Nabors record all in the same day. Forget the haters and enjoy your collection, that's some nice stuff!
lol coolbluelights, he has some nice records, most appear to be in great condition, however, most, from a monetary standpoint are worth from 25 cents to about 10 dollars. Do yourself a favour, get some outer AND inner sleeves. Put the outer sleeve on, and then take the record out and put the record in the inner sleeve and DON'T put it back in the album, rather put it at the back of the album inside the outer plastic. This will prevent more ring wear. Also, buy a Goldmine price guide.
Your father kept his albums in nice condition. My advice to you would be to invest in some clear plastic outer sleeves because they will preserve your records from dust and further record ring wear. Nice work on the video and remember that vinyl is {and will be} much more collectible and important than compact discs ever will. You got something nice handed down to you and you are cool enough to appreciate it. That is what its all about!
Actually you're both correct . In the beginning "Parlophone Records" and "Capitol Records" didn't release the same albums in the U.K. and the U.S. so "Please Please Me" was the first U.K. album while "Meet the Beatles" was the first official U.S. album (I say official because a little known label named "VJ" had a Beatles album on the shelf before "Capitol Records") .
Used to cause some confusion for the Beatles when they were touring in the U.S. They often had to say to the audience "we think this is on our latest album" because the U.S. and U.K. albums had different song lineups . Also for some reason the U.K. albums usually had two more songs (14) then the U.S. albums (12) .
@Warthog5050 The Vee Jay album was official, called Introducing...The Beatles. They lost their contract soon after the album was released though. Short lived relationship.
first of all this is an OLD video of mine, see the date --->> I was real nervous about being on youtube at the time and I have over 200 other records that I haven't even shown. what music do you like anyway? country? that music sucks ass.
i got pretty worn-out 2lp of the wall. It has sticker put in middle of front cover "pink floyd the wall" in black "the wall"-theme text and transparent background. But great stuff. Im so used to Beatles UK Catalogue, those US ones and their album names are hard to swallow.
Hey man nice collection. However I just wanted to point out that dispite the fact that "Meet The Beatles" says it's the first album, it was not. Their first album released in America was "Introducing the Beatles" The reason it says it's the first album is because "Meet The Beatles" was the first of their albums with Capital Records.
The original copies of that album had that cover with them on the trunk actually pasted over the original, which was a picture they got in trouble for (The Beatles wearing butcher clothes, covered in baby doll pieces and meat). If that's the case, you have a very valuable album there. If not, well... the music still kicks ass.
Well, I don't see a number on the back and I've been trying to shine a light through the cover but it's too opaque, but the cover is definitely pasted over
Yesterday And Today was originally released with the "Butcher" cover there was a lot of controversy over that album cover, so Capitol records pasted the "Steamer Trunk" slick. The Butcher cover is highly sought after and now sells for around $15,000.
would that be a butcher block yeterday and today ? AND IS TH MEET THE BEATLES A PAST OVER? does it have bmi /ascap song credits on the lbl.cool your dad would be proud.
Hey,I have one question on "Dark Side Of The Moon". Is your copy the Harvest pressing,or the Capitol pressing? And is it the US or an Import (UK,France,Holland) edition?
uhh I like almost all kinds of music I happen to like alot of abba's songs, and I was showing that for a friend who's a bigger fan than me. Also I like the beatles alot and I don't care what anyone says about that. today's music sucks bigtime! they haven't made a good song since the mid 1990s!
U get respect for your honesty...A record collection should reflect what YOU like. Not catering to what may appeal to others. Good job and keep collecting!
maybe I overreacted a bit, but I DO listen to these records, and I burn them to CD so I can listen to them in my car. this is one of my early videos, back when I didn't know so much about making vids, I try to add more info in them now. how can you say I only have them to show off? you don't know that! one of the main reasons I made this vid is for a YT friend to show him my records, and he's also an ABBA fan, which is why I included that. and there's nothing wrong with abba.
This dude is a dork. Seems like he has all these albums just to collect them.I have my albums because I love good music and I love the vinyl sound. This guy doesn't understand this I guess....I mean ABBA, give me a break. Also about burning albums directly to his standalone burner. This analog to digital base conversion sucks; hook your turntable up properly to a soundcard then boost base levels, EQ, etc. I don't have every album in strink wrap but I listen to and enjoy all my 300+ albums.
listen to me very closely you mother FUCKER! that's my dad's record collection, he left it to me after he DIED!!!!! you inconcievable PIECE OF SHIT HOW DARE YOU!!!!!!!
ALL of them are opened and were played by my dad, maybe I didn't make that clear enough in the vid, but you better watch how you comment in the future because you really pissed me off
Awesome man. i got LOTS, LOTS, AND LOTS of records. You got a great taste in music man! awesome!!! WHOOO!! and Jethro Tull is one of my favourite bands, and I got Aqualung on 8 track lol awesome
I really think they are totally overrated. Did you know that they were inspired by Country Legends like Buck Owens? But they couldn't come close. None of them could sing well, except maybe Paul McCartney. His solo stuff was even worse than the Beatles songs.
Well, you go and have fun listening to your Buck Owens collection. How do you think of John and Paul as songwriters? Pretty crappy too? Not GOOD like say, Conway Twitty?
Whenever I hear somebody say something incredibly stupid, like "the Beatles suck", I always like to ask them who they think is good. That's usually when we hear about how good Bon Jovi or Nickelback are!
um actually no, I cant stand Nickleback or Bon Jovi. I think the Beatles were just okay. I like Elvis, Patsy, Hank, Marty, and great singers of the Gold Era of Country Music. I also like the phenmonal Roy Orbison.I dont care much for the Beatles- their music was at times overtly pretentious and had egos the size of Mexico.
Actually, that "Meet the Beatles" album wasn't the first Beatles album like you said. The Beatles' "Meet the Beatles" on the Vee-Jay label was the very first album produced by the Beatles. The "Meet the Beatles" one was the second.

paste over?..hmm well I'm pretty sure it's origional from the year it was released

Lol, I think we're on different wavelengths...
The original copies of that album had that cover with them on the trunk actually pasted over the original, which was a picture they got in trouble for (The Beatles wearing butcher clothes, covered in baby doll pieces and meat). If that's the case, you have a very valuable album there. If not, well... the music still kicks ass.
Verbeeks92 3 years ago
Holy crap! the label does appear to be pasted over!! how much is something like this worth?
ControlledExplosions 3 years ago
Let's see...
There should be a number on the back in the lower right-hand corner. Is it a 2,3,4,5 or 6?
Secondly, under the "Today" on the cover, to Ringo's left (Your right), you should barely be able to make out the shape of Ringo's black turtleneck.
Verbeeks92 3 years ago
Well, I don't see a number on the back and I've been trying to shine a light through the cover but it's too opaque, but the cover is definitely pasted over
ControlledExplosions 3 years ago
(This is my other channel in case you were wondering) there definitely appears to be a darker picture behind what they pasted over it
ControlledExplosions 3 years ago
That's what they meant.
Yesterday And Today was originally released with the "Butcher" cover there was a lot of controversy over that album cover, so Capitol records pasted the "Steamer Trunk" slick. The Butcher cover is highly sought after and now sells for around $15,000.
