@mousiscool HAHA.... real shit.. i notice that in every bob marley interview they jus be shootin in the dark cuz they got NO clue the conversation they be havin...
@sfreshman you know, the more you listen to him the more you can understand, just like any langauge. But youll be glad once you can fully hear what great words he says. And also, the harder you try to listen, the less you will hear, its just gotta come to you
Hey people can you guys please check my track in my channel called Jamaican Style i try adding a bit of Jamaican in it let me know what you guys think i love Jamaica and i want to learn Jamaican way of rapping ;-). Thanks
Much respect to you Bob Marley. RIP. However, you have forgotten a key genre that gave birth to reggae...it is not Ska, Rnb, or rocksteady. You forgot to mention that Jamaican Mento was popular in Jamaica BEFORE the arrival of Calypso music and defined reggae by its stacatto riff.
Bob Marley had many inspired songs and he talked of peace and love. A world without war and hate is now possible if we wake up to the truth of life. Search "Truth Contest" in Google and click the 1st result, then open The Present and read what it says to learn the truth of life.
Like reggae? You’ll love this! Mainstreet Dubsacks, Small time struggling reggae/ska group, in comparison to Sublime and Slightly Stoopid, These guys rock! Give them a chance! Help us get the sound out! You wont regret doing so!!
He's just speaking patois bus he's actually toned it down so that a foreigner to Jamaica can understand. Geez why don't people try ro listen instead of saying "Ohh he has an accent so obviously I can't understand him!! " Really because I'm not Jamaican and I can understand him fine. Listen to his words and forget his accent. Gosh you guys would probably be so confused if you went to Jamaica and weren't in the Posh areas!!
@Bonitaymorena I had to listen to that interview a couple of times before I understood *all* that he said, but to me it is worth it to get wisdom from Bob. I love Jamaican patois. Once you listen to it for a little while, you can easily get what is said. It's a very rhythmically beautiful way of speaking.
WHAT I WOULD HAVE GIVE TOHAVE MEET BOB MARLEY, I HAVE ONE OF HIS PICTURE AIR BRUSHED DOWN THE SIDES OF MY TRUCK AND DRIVE IT AROUND WITH PRID (BLESS )
@YoursTruelyMe2 He's talking about the evolution of Jamaican music. First it started off with them playing some calypso because in the West Indies Calypso is the musical form that's most popular in the islands of Trinidad, Grenada, Barbados, etc. But then in Jamaica there were very influenced by Rnb from African American culture so they mixed it and began singing half blues is what he says. Like Fats Domino rock rnb music. That was before ska which came next. Then rock steady and then Reggae!!
Sad that jamaicans are the most violent people on earth (im not talking about the army but ordinary citizens). Adults show kids how to kill gays. Its a danger to straights as well. My travel agent confirmed that if you are a straight tourist and local jamaicans hear a conversation your having in a restaurant, shop, etc. where you talk about your gay friends from back home, you will be the victim of death threats instantly by the locals. Scary place for myself and my children. I decided not to go
@robertom2002 Listen to him closely folks, it's not as difficult as you may think. He says, "when the musicians in jamaica started to play although they can play calypso too, cause they play a lot of calypso, but because ahh the american influence music come past through down there you know, them start to kinda get more... true... them times you used to have Fats Dominoe and plenty of them type of people, so, after a while now the music start drift from the reggae, it used to be a music (TBC)
@robertom2002 (cont'd) almost like a half blues, them used to play before the ska start you know, even people like Joe Higgs, chanana... you know that music, we used to play it plenty, so ahmm, from there now it develop to people start cheng cheng... fi ska you know, and then fi ahmm rocksteady, ejeng ejeng... fi reggae now is ejeck ejeck... you know, so you have three different field, but the three of them can put together again and make one thing still."
@jakejakeharrison HAHA i hella laughed when i heard that. you think the interviewer gets what he's saying? or he's just repeating "Yeah" "Mhm" "Oh" "Riight" "uh huh" haha
@wereonutube99 LOL, just drop all pretenses to how a standard language should sound and feel what he is saying and you will hear almost every word he is saying and hence understand, ya dig. Peace.
Bob Marley was a messenger like Martin Luther King, his strongest message was: Let's get together and feel alright. Bob Marley had a good heart and a big one. The world can not and will not have enough of his music.
