Hendry was absolutely ruthless in winning those last ten frames. It was a barrage of brilliant snooker. White missed chances to go 15-8 and then 16-9. And, of course, Hendry didn't miss a ball in those days. I loved the way he chalked his cue at the end - "the name's Hendry, Stephen Hendry".

No doubt about it hendry played with great skill and precision in that last session not so good in the first two sessions, Ive watched this match umpteen times now trying to figure out how White could play so crap in the last session, the only conclusion i can draw is that White threw that last session, no doubt about it, in other words he wasent trying, White probably backed Hendry to win, White knew he was a better player than Hendry anyway

You guys who were busting jokes on the commentator had me dying! His voice is hilarious and I just never said anything. But about Mr. Hendry...this was just an unbelievable match. Coming back to win this 18-14, there are just no words to describe the effort. He is an absolute potting sensation: the best that's ever been. His approach to snooker is so correct and so perfectly executed. His manner and style of playing I think are unsurpassed. These last two centuries were amazing!

I think part of the reason why Stephen is so unpopular is because he beat Jimmy White so many times at the world championships, especially the finals. Preventing the most popular player from winning the world title is bound to make you really unpopular.

Dennis Taylor came back from 8-0 down against Steve Davis to win 18-17, I think that might be the biggest deficit.
