Well it's almost certain he wasn't murdered or anything. He either committed suicide (but none of the band members think so), or it was an accident. He died by being strangled with a towel tied to a doorknob, but the stretches the band does to relieve pain from guitar straps involves tying one's neck to a towel and then to the doorknob. He was drunk (proven) and he might have accidentally screwed the stretch up and suffocated
