Its called Latent Ninja Powers (LNP). When you're almost dead, you get extra powers. Ex. Hiruko gets poision (I think). Some characterse get extra specials (kabuto, kiba). Some just get stronger.

Kinda like an enhanced crisis mode.

Now gimpyfish you know i value your opinion but this is in now way shape or form even comparable to GNT4 this would be GNT4 minus the skill and combos hinita would have died off that throw with no chakara because you would have comboed into a super. they nerfed combo canceling..

the only thing people claim gnt4 is 'better at' is that you can do LONGER combos - but the combos in these games SHOULDN'T do 90% or automatically combo into everything. The combo system in this game is fantastic - long strings with strategic knj predictions (just like in gnt4) but MORE options in almost every other regard. knock them down -> super automatically was really dumb. Now you can still do it - but only if the person

you're playing has less than 2 bars of chakra because of wake up teleports - there are also options to escape from easy blockstun attempts on getup with wake up attacks. the game overall has WAY more chakra management required - the timing is harsher on Y cancels and supers.

Custom grabs that are useful for things other than the combos of the past also add a level of depth. Many moves require chakra that didn't before - which was offsetting at first but what it accomplished was forcing you to

actually, they can do it with less than two. i remember a few times i did it with a little over one bar. i think the timing is tigher though. i'm still working on it.

Some people will still PREFER ngnt4 absolutely - it DOES have longer automatic combo strings and easy super opportunities that wouldn't work in conr3 - but as far as it being a competitive game the balance is dreadful and too many things are extremely thoughtless.

@Gimpyfish62 What I meant by that is melee and brawl can be deemed as the same game. However alot of the mechanics are different. Mistakes come at a much greater toll in melee and the game was faster. Melee would represent GNT4 and brawl would represent CONR3 Your not going to die off one combo. Similiarly your not just going to be waveshined off the stage and lose a stock.

melee and brawl aren't even close to the same game - these games (CoNR/GNT) are very similar. Brawl doesn't represent CoNR3 in any way because CoNR3 is a good game - whereas Brawl is a smoldering pile of garbage.

If GNT4 was melee and CoNR3 was brawl I wouldn't like CoNR3 MORE than GNT4.

it's situational obviously - if they have enough chakra to KnJ and you can combo into it it's a good way to make them waste their bars and give them unavoidable heavy damage.

better than GNT4? idk... I think I wouldn't like the increased gravity. One reason I liked GNT4 so much was all the retarded combos you could come up with (even if they weren't useful =-P)

there are still heavy duty combos in this - that (the combos being able to do like 90% with no KnJ options) and the HORRENDOUS balance of ngnt4 games aren't positives - it's just what people were used to from when they played it.

this game has WAYYYY more options and basically makes it so you have to be good to beat people.

Wake up options like attack and teleport are HUGE - there is also WAY more chakra management required in this game as a lot of moves (teleports or clay bombs for example)
