  • now I know where Madonna got her idea from, for her video to "Say goodbye".

  • @NightinGal89: It's called "Take a Bow."

  • He sorta looks like Buster Keaton.

  • Who cares wether he was gay or not? What does it matter?

  • This is a great movie but sorry... I hate bull fights!

  • A very good-looking boy followed me for a quarter of an hour, and in the end he came up to me outside the Opera. I went back with him to his home and he kissed me with a frenzy even on the staircase. I was wildly passionate. We made love like tigers until dawn.

~ Rudolph Valentino, silent screen actor.

  • @KingsCrossHarry

If he messed around with men that's more then fine with me, because I'm gay.

  • @ccipollini1984 google the quote - you'll see lots of references

  • @ccipollini1984 : Stop it! STOP!!! You are not gay so it's wrong of you to claim to be!

  • @KingsCrossHarry kingscrossharry, where did you get this rudolph valentino quote? curious!

  • @KingsCrossHarry kingscrossharry, where did you get this rudolph valentino quote? curious!

  • @KingsCrossHarry The book that passage is from has been discredited. One of the authors of a slanderous book about Rudy was beaten black & blue by Evel Knievel for printing lies about Evel. Can't remember the author's name but it was the same guy that wrote about Rudy. I don't care if Rudy was gay/bi but Rudy cared. It is not fair to his memory. He was a great talent, spoke 4 languages, could take a car apart, such a talent deserves more respect that speculation over his sexuality.

  • Why can't a man be masculine and yet be feminine at the same time? We have such stereotypes in America and we must work to change that.

  • Male audiences were offended by Valentino's extravagant dress, colorful spats, make-up, and willingness to display his body on screen in such films as The Sheik ( and Blood and Sand . Hollywood's first queer film star, Valentino disrupted his era's rigid codes of sex and gender. Valentino's sexuality remains ambiguous, but rumors of his homosexuality were rife among Hollywood gay circles, despite (or because of) his marriages to and divorces from Jean Acker and Natacha Rambova, both lesbian.

  • @EutuveX There is no credible evidence that Valentino was gay. Men have always felt threatened by him. Valentino wore the costumes and makeup provided by the studio, and some of the makeup is horrible--Marcel Marceau-esque, but this doesn't make him gay or bisexual. He was Italian and was well-dressed. Spats were in style. He wore a slave bracelet given to him by his wife and a wristwatch, new at the time. None of this implies homosexuality. He loved women and wanted kids. He was not gay

  • @msrudyfan You say he was a macho man. I just write what I find on the Internet He died 84 years ago ! WIKI :

"At least four books, particularly Hollywood Babylon, began to perpetuate that he may have been homosexual despite his marriage with Rambova. In fact, the marriages to Acker and Rambova, as well as the relationship with Pola Negri only serves to add to the suspicion that Valentino was homosexual and that these were "lavender marriages", as all have documented lesbian relationships "

  • @EutuveX Hollywood Babylon and its claims about Rudy's sexuality have been thoroughly discredited. Credible, impartial journalists who have thoroughly investigated these myths in depth have found no truth to them. There is a large amount of evidence about how much he loved women, especially Rambova, who was not a lesbian. She married a man who bore a resemblance to Rudy after his death. Some of the photos he posed for and roles he played were done to please her, and it hurt his image.

  • @msrudyfan

    DISCREDITED MY ARSE !

are you on some medication ?

  • @EutuveX Consistent with other discourses I have had with you, it seems that you cannot handle disagreement with someone who opposes your opinions without attacking your opponent or discussing your body, parts thereof, and what you do with parts thereof. You can believe what you wish, but I choose to believe qualified journalists who have taken the time and trouble to investigate this issue in depth and who have arrived at credible conclusions, versus salacious gossip.

  • @EutuveX

I was about to ask you the same question.

Are you on some kind of medication?

  • are you a male or what ?

  • That ain't no bull.

  • jaja ke buen actor de aquella epoca como me gustaria verlo actuar en la actualidad (avatar, dear john etc )

  • He was Italian, he came to America by New York, more exactly the first time he put his feet in America was in Ellys Islan like more of the inmigrants in that time

  • the quality of the film is incredible after allmost 90 years

    saludos, macho !

  • where was rudulf born? america or italy?

  • BRAVO, BELLO VALENTINO !

  • rodolfo was born on May 6 like Tyrone power and they both are Tauruses fighting bulls amazing.............

  • Does anyone know how I can see the dressing room scene in its entirety? It's completely missing from the Netflix DVD and is cut short in the Kino DVD. Thanks for any info.

  • Oops, they cut out the scene where he rode above his fans while leaving the stadium.

  • In that scene where he was worshipped by the fans, 2 of them carried him over their heads, each lifting a thigh over their shoulders. However, based on observations of current bull fighting, the matador is usually honored by riding directly over the shoulders of just one fan (gripping the head between the thighs). Just a minor flaw though.

  • two guys gives it better energy...

  • Do you have any information on the bullfighters of the real corrida pieces????I am awfully curious to know!!!Thanks in advance

  • Check out Nita at 3:30. She looks downright predatory!

  • This movie was used in a stupid music video by Rammstein

  • erm no. o.o that was fanmade. the actual band didn't use it.

  • Thanks so much for uploading this scene. I've only been able to find one DVD edition of this movie and it was in horrific condition, with an organ score that I think repeated the same 5 notes through the entire movie. It was completely ruined for me. I would love it if you could upload the entre movie for those of us that either have seen poor copies or never seen it at all. From one Valentino fan to another.

  • I recommend you buy the Kino version. It has SUPERB music that changes to fit each scene perfectly. It also has great scenes that the Netflix version (which I rented and which had a lousy repetitive score) left out. The only thing wrong is that in the Kino version, the dressing room scene is cut short. Very annoying! (The Netflix version doesn't have that scene at all.)

  • uno de los primeros galanes d ela pantalla

  • can you upload the full movie version of the silent film "Blood and Sand 1922" Thank you for uploading the film clip.

  • The BULLPEN. OMG relief pitchers. DOH, now I get it. Geez it only took me 50 years to figure this out. LOL.

  • Mexiko, 1922... can't wait to meet Porfirio Diaz. lol.
