  • This is so cool!

  • That could be a nintendo comercial.

  • Thumbs up if you have or had at least 50% of the toys in this video.

  • all that to turn on your ds lol now u have to clean it all up

  • Why did you post this right before my birthday?

  • AWESOME! ITS REAL WHEN SOMEONE SAYS THAT ITS POSSIBLE TO DO IT WITH EVERYTHING.

  • N64 GAMES!!!! AWESOME!!!

  • amazing

  • that pretty much summed up my childhood.

  • this....thiss...this isnt simple...........

it would take days for me to make a thing like that work. for real.

  • I prefer it when you don't show the machine beforehand. I like to be surprised by these machines!

  • hahaha nice man!

  • That's kinda not simple

  • Nine people prefer iPod Touches over music boxes and D.S.'s.

  • If this is simple... I'd hate to see what you call difficult!

  • Rube Goldberg was not a builder but a cartoonist; his inventions were but drawings, he would draw very complicated machines to do the simplest of tasks in cartoon form.

  • u made that with random stuff

  • I get it, it puts the game in sleep mode.

  • I want to point out that it is ironic that this rube goldberg machine is simple, since by definition a rube goldberg machine is a complex machine which performs simple tasks. Don't get me wrong though, I really like this video.

  • really awsome video!

  • that isnt very simple....

  • simple????? THIS IS TOUGH!!! Nice work bud!

  • Umm...I have a question...well two.Okay first, what is Rube Goldberg? And,how do you think of stuff to do it with?

  • @bob3063v

This is Yoshirule on my other account. Rube Goldberg was a man who drew cartoons of similar machines, involving complex steps to accomplish simple tasks. These machines are named after him. For how I think of steps, it's really random, starting from the first step and going on from there. Steps are usually things I discovered messing. Dominoes (heavy yet easy to topple) usually increase energy when progressive steps brought it down to a rolling marble (little energy).

  • @bob3063v Rube goldberg was a builder I believe, and a rube goldberg machine is by definition, a complex machine that erforms simple tasks.

  • i need help my gr.5 science project due TOMORROW! I HAVE 2 USE 4 SIMPLE MACHINES!!!!! HELP ME!!!! PL0X!!!! IWAS THINKING OF AN EGG BREAKER THO HELP ME!!!

  • oten

  • It's preety nice

  • way to go, smash a perfectly good DS :D

  • where did you buy the wooden marble game pieces?

  • whats with all the nintendo 64 games?

  • 0:11 I had those cars when I was young =P

  • "Simple Rube Goldberg machine" That is an Oximoron

  • @Pahjx Glad to know i'm not the only one who thinks that.

  • @VicTheMouth3612 I think I spelled "Oxymoron" wrong

  • @Pahjx That's ok with me.

  • i have to do one of these at school.

    Any suggestions? or Help?

  • this is not simple at all

  • i have to do a many step one and somehow keep it intact while bringing to school... what a pain

  • oh and im guessing the gsme you had was pokemon right ethier diamond pearl firered one of them

  • me too im doing simple machines at school

for lever we used cardboard to cut out with the fulcrum and it works perfectly this is very good video good job thanks for helping us get ideas for our class and we made an inclined plane too!

  • Comment removed

  • go monkey ball

  • Ok so my science class has to build a Rube Goldberg machine with 3 simple machines (ex. lever, pulley, inclined plane, screw, etc) and its due TOMORROW and we havent even drawn a sketch for it!!! I need help!!! Any ideas???

  • Cool, does it need to be transportable?

For levers, rulers make good ones. Look at my "Rube Goldberg Machine VI" where I use one in the beginning.

Board game boards make good inclined planes. I used them in the second machine.

I haven't yet used a screw, but you can make a simple pulley system by like I did in machine 6 a domino with a string falls off the table, making the vertical motion of the domino become horizontal motion for a wooden block attached to it.

  • (to add on, out of space on the last one)

Some more tips. Make the riskiest part of the machine first. If the first steps are always perfect, and then the risky part near the end, it becomes very annoying to set up the whole thing. If it fails near the start, at least there isn't much to redo.

Also just experiment with whatever you have. Marbles and dominoes feel a bit cheap, but I must admit if there's a problem, you can usually restart with one of the two. Good luck with it.

  • @kkprincess15 epic fail

  • @kkprincess15 omg. are you in the ninth grade??!?!?? i might know you!

  • wat was the game in the ds?

  • I still have a 64 with smash bro and it still works i still play it LOL

  • aweomse i like the 64 games thing

  • hahah thats awesome but dude u have no life hahahaha

  • 3 things you need to do this.

    1. you have to be REALLY bored

    2. you have to have an idea

    3. you have to have alot of free time on your hands or be out of school and done work.

  • N64!

  • Who's going to clean it all up??

  • 101111th view lolz

    4/5

  • Nice. You made me want to make a Rube Goldberg machine now :D. Wish I could - I don't have the space.

  • 101,111 views! 8 D

  • whoa! 100,000 views!

  • 100,001 viewer =]

  • haha, simple?????????

  • ew.. good

  • u said "Simple Rube Goldberg Machine III"

    HOW WAS THAT SIMPLE??

  • that was actually a really good small rube goldberg

  • lol at n64 games

  • thre wii games u wanka

  • no at 0:16

  • cool

  • okay i see the word somple but thats doesnt even look close to being simple

  • Another Success!!!! :)

  • A rube goldberg device is not necessary for my physics class, but I chose to do one. I'm almost certain even something like this would please the instructor.

  • wow! this is cool

  • Excellent use for N64 games...haha

  • I though it was cool :D

  • looks like you are a busy ma

  • cool ~~~~~~~i love it but you got so many time to made this~~~~

  • wow! thanks for saying on how to do it!

  • WOW!

  • N64 FTW!!

  • N64 own all consoles. =]

  • indeed, but IMO the 360 isnt far behind :D

  • COOL ive been working on a design 4 one

  • and thats how u turn on a ds XD

  • I seriously need help on how to build a 6 step Rube Goldberg contraption on my own! Please! I can't build and it's for my 8th grade science projects due on Thurday! HELP! One that I can take to school.

  • i am in exactly the same situation

  • im in 7th grade SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!! IM STUCK!

  • nice! i tried to make one, but i just messed up the basement instead.

  • thats simple?

i cant even make one that lasts 10 sec!

  • nice ending there and use of n64 cartrigdes

  • thats pretty cool and its not simple cause that must have taken forever to make.

  • WOW THIS IS SOOOOOOOO AWESOME!!

  • rofl, yeah, you did make it a bit obvious that the DS was already on before those cases hit it.

  • I know, even in the description it has long said I hit the game icon, not turned on the DS. I mean, seriously, if you can rig up something from little kid toys that can turn on a DS Lite and be fueled by the mass of a Wii case hitting it, well I applaud you. ;)

  • Ah, I see what you mean, it does say I turned it on near the top. Well, it's an oversight, and I never meant to make it seem like I turned it on anyway!

  • Totally awesome!

  • simple my ass...

    but awesome none the less

  • There is NO SUCH THING as a 'simple' Rube Goldberg. Lol, GJ btw.

  • you cheater!!! the DS was already on1!!

  • Where did you get all those toys???

  • Nice!

  • nice that looks like some project.

  • I'd rather just turn on my DS LOL!

  • wow, you sure have a lots of toys

  • Great Job. Did you make those wood pieces by hand?

  • No, they are part of a set.

  • 3 thing to tell you cool vid smart crazy

  • I think that it is better if you show us what the machine looks like before you start it.

  • yay nintendo games!!!

  • I like to make a contraption like this where the series of kinetic energy exchanges in a chain reaction results in a brutal and horrific murder.

  • Crap, I removed another comment by accident. I was going to reply to the guy saying he doesn't have the stuff to build one by saying everyone has the stuff. If you really want to you can make these things out of cardboard and string. YouTube really needs a "verify" thing for removing comments, this is the second time I've done it. Sorry.

  • lol nintendo

    ~*~cofffee~*~

  • cool

  • i like the idea of combining house hold objects with actual track pieces to create your idea. clever

  • That was one of the coolest rube goldbergs I have seen so far. That's a cool way to end it!

  • lol, i think i have a projecet now, turn on ym ds :D

  • That is very smart of you. I know there is a song associated with this process of using Simple Rube Goldberg Machine. It's heard on Warner Bros cartoons and in the Simpsons once. Does anyone know what this song is called. It has no lyrics

  • SIMPLE?! dude, a supercomputer is simpler than that

  • u have way 2 much time on ur hands

  • Music box and DS... BRILLIANT!

  • nice! u have wii^^

  • I luv dominos!:)

  • those are alot of my child hood toys right there.. good times.. good times...

  • But, serious, it's way too hard to make a rube goldberg that will turn on a DS. This is not simple at all. No, it's not.

  • I didn't write that correctly. It does not actually turn on a DS, it just starts up the game. The Wii case falls on a domino positioned directly over the game icon, and it registers on the touch screen.

  • What icon?

  • You know, that rectangular area you press on the screen which has the other options like starting pictochat.

  • oh ok

  • THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!

  • i hate do go against your direct orders but... this isn't simple. XP

  • Hm. I can see a few N64 games, and a few Wii game cases hitting a DS Lite with Diddy Kong Racing DS. Fantastic!

  • thats fine, i dont mind. :D

  • Oh, I'm really sorry. The person who commented "lol after this take that worked 'surprisingly well" had his comment deleted. I deleted a spammer's message, and I was using a laggy laptop. When I clicked it registered twice and deleted both messages...

  • Not too long. This took about 2.5 hours to make and 1 hour to retest and film to get it to work. The very beginning part where the marble goes up the blocks failed at least 25 times but I thought it was too neat to remove. Now that we have moved I can make more in about a week.

  • well....this is good...how long did it take you?

  • Mmmnnn... Great video, you really got talent.

  • Cool! YouTube finally made a way to change the image. They did not update that on the question and answer section though.

  • omg sooo awesome dude!

  • cool

  • lol... stupid moan... haha nice though

  • Sorry for the moaning sound, I was about to go "NOOOO" because I thought the DS did not turn on!
