I love this song...this use to be the song that my dad would sing to me whenever I got in a bad mood....it made me laugh so hard that I couldn't stay in a bad mood for very long....I love it!
They had to write this song for the movie, because they had failed to come to an agreement with Sam The Sham and The Pharoahs, to use their song "Little Red Riding Hood"! Just a bit of trivia that I thought you might find interesting.
You asked "Btw, you said Boomer and Lois checked out this video? I suppose they didn't mind it being posted?" (I replied but deleted it to rewrite my reply and it deleted your question...sorry). But no they didn't mind. They were glad to see it posted! I know he doesn't get on here too often so I'll have to tell him to check it out again! Congrats on the hits! :)
This song is unforgettable. It's been in my head ever since I first saw "In the Heat of the Night" which is a superb movie too. That was about 40 years ago. Thanks for posting it!
Thanks, OneRyt! It was Boomer and his drummer, Lois Hess that told me about this video. They wanted a copy of it so I did it for them. If you do a search of Boomer Castleman, you'll find a couple videos that I uploaded of them at Poodies in Austin. I hope to see them again in about 3 weeks.
I've been looking for this song for like, forty years. Its the kind of thing that gets stuck in your head and you can't get it out for days lol. Thanks for posting it to YouTube. God knows from where you got it!

Quincy Jones wrote this music. Looks like his talents went far beyond R&B. This song sort of sticks with you.

They collaboratively composed the song and the lyrics, but it was performed by Boomer Clarke and Travis Lewis.

OneRyt,
Great video you uploaded! How about including Boomer's last name of "Castleman" in the tags so it can come up in a search.
