The tuition increases are being enacted because the state of California (the 7th largest economy in the world) can't come up with 934 million dollars.
Cutting 80% of our budget, and taking away the measly scraps we give to illegal aliens is not necessary to fix the budget.
Its the corruption in the California system that needs to be remedied.

It is not corruption that is the problem with California.
It is 40 years of VOTER initiatives and propositions that have locked in the vast majority of the California budget and any budget cuts require an unlikely 2/3 super majority in the legislature.
Then there is Prop. 13 which is a huge problem. Without reforming the property taxes on commercial property California tax revenue is far too dependent on "taxes on the wealthy" which tend to be tied to the stock market to make up the gap

34% tuition increase? And your saying they should just go to a different school if they don't like it?
The point is that they CANT go to a different school and get the same level of education with these tuition increases.

It is real easy to take care of the fee.
1. Cut back about 80 % of all government programs in the state.
2. Stop providing all free services to illegal aliens.
The state would have a surplus shortly and not only would you not have an increase in tuition but they could decrease the cost.If your happy with all the governemnt programs in California. Then with a smile on your face, get your check book out. and pay up.

the president of berkeley high raised the student fees by 32% (like 3000 dollars more per semester)
and he did this without consulting the students
